So many local businesses and restaurants use AI now for their ads, specials, etc., and it honestly makes me not want to go to any of them. Literally AI generated photos of food that looks gross and whatever else. This timeline sucks.

Every GoFundMe advertisement or anecdote is "my kid had to go the hospital for a life-saving surgery and I can't afford it even with health insurance, so I started a GoFundMe." And it's good actually that this parent had to do that.
Wasn't feeling very well earlier, so for lunch, I just ate three fruits: grapes, an apple, and an orange. And I feel great. I feel like more people need to know about this. It's like if you eat healthier foods it makes you feel better. I might start a podcast about it.
This is an incredible game. I highly recommend it.
In retrospect, the beauty and tragedy of Anthony Bourdain, specifically with Parts Unknown, was that he was a man coming to terms with aging and in many ways actively fighting against it. But it was in the small moments where he embraced it that the show truly shined.
(transferring to Arthur’s school from Arthur) so what the fuck are you guys
I think a lot about how Tiger Woods is the greatest golfer of all time, but... imagine how good he could've been if he would just stop drinking and driving.
haha, just kidding, still deeply in the rut and haven't played a game since.
Kind of wild to live in a world where 50% of the U.S. population is probably fine with the President depicting himself as Jesus Christ. We're fine, everything's fine.
Yeah, this doesn't solve anything, because if you've used Word or any other M365 program lately, the AI BS is hidden in sub-menus and drop-down menus. It's actually way worse and more deeply embedded. So annoying...
This is really all you have to do. This game was already on my radar, but now it's a must play. We have to reward this philosophy from developers/publishers, especially in the current climate.
Yessss!!!
This seems closer to being real than any other time before, but even still... I'll believe it when I'm sitting in the theater with my bandana on.
But all throughout, you have smaller, meaningful interactions/adventures, all building toward these bigger moments that have room to breathe. I just want a solid first movie that does well enough for them to build on!
I'm naive enough to hope for a trilogy.
1. Establish the world and characters. End with finding the Master Sword, defeating lowers stakes villain, hint of Ganon.
2. Ganon gains power, they fight, Link loses.
3. Link seeks the Triforce, grows in power, defeats Ganon.
My kids do the same thing. They think AI is cringe, which at their age, is the worst thing you can be.
The thing about console exclusives is that they only really affect you if you let them. If you get caught up in the hype and have FOMO. Otherwise, you can super easily get by with just a Switch 2 and a PC. To each their own, but I'm kind of glad to be out of that system.
Remember when these launched at like $40? That was a funny time.
I've noticed on posts I see: the more engagement there is, the more the replies slowly start to look like X. And that sucks.
And for this reason, I will just never watch them. That's how easy it is for me! 😅
Forced myself to get out of my gaming rut and just started up Resident Evil 2 Remake. This is only my 2nd RE game after finishing Requiem last month and the DNA has always been there. I am loving it so far and glad to be playing as Leon again. Feels good to be back gaming again.
This shit is exhausting…
I'd say you can give yourself some grace given the... situation.
100%, yes. You know what it reminded me of was playing Pokemon Gold/Silver and realizing you could go back to the Kanto region. But this was so much more impactful, like you said, because it's like your youth is eroding away and you have to reconnect with it but in a healthier, more sustainable way.
Had the exact same experience! And dang it, I can make myself tear up just by thinking about it too much. What an incredible game...
Oh man, yep... I cried several different times while playing it just because it reframed the entire Pokemon experience in a way I never expected. So weirdly existential. An all-timer game for sure.
I was so relieved when I heard other people also cried. I was like, "I cannot be the person who cries because of a Pokemon game," but I am, and that's OK. Something about that last scene and the music... ugh.
I felt the same way! The destroyed me, which I was not ready for, and I haven't been able to play another game since.
I mean you said it yourself, people are just taking ChatGPT at its word and then presenting the information as fact. More than just being an inaccurate and bad resource for information, it's going to destroy people's critical thinking skills more than they already are destroyed.
