Like I'm not kidding. People die on my road because of how poor the driving conditions are in winter. I grew up along this stretch of road, so I know it like the back of my hand. I'm actually really surprised FloridaMan didn't hit the ditch and proud of him for making it out safely.
The moment he said his GPS said to take 1, I was like "oh noo. Honey no. WHY did you do that?" CTY 1 is my nearest paved road and it's not a road for the faint of heart. You only drive it in winter if you know how to drive in shit conditions. He was completely valid in his panic attack on it...
Funny enough. He said his GPS took him on a back way to his place once he got to our county. And he did have a moment of stopping in the middle of the road for a few minutes to have a panic attack while on this route. His GPS took him along the stretch of road I actually live on.
We both live in the same county just in separate towns. I'm used to driving through this stuff. This one was actually pretty okay in comparison to others I've had to drive across state in. Poor guy, I called him to make sure he made it home. He sounded like he was on the edge of a mental breakdown 😅
Oh poor FloridaMan. So I had a several day conference/meeting for work and the Forest Service was there too. Well the new Forester for my area is from Florida. We're in North Dakota. Our meeting was on the other side of the state. He got to drive home 6hr through a blizzard today.

Like the ridicule I faced, especially on things I didn't give people permission to even look at is wild to me now that I look back. It's fucked with me for the following years of my life. I don't feel safe or confident sharing my work because of it. And that's really kinda fucked up 😾
My stuff back then was pretty tame, no worse than any pg-13 action movie? Why was it so concerning that a middle/highschooler liked creating works that would fit right in with a run of the mill action/super hero movie? Why did people feel the need to invade so far into my private sketch/notebooks?
IDK. Anyone else had that problem? People in your life looking over your shoulder when trying to write/draw, going through your stuff like notebooks and sketchbooks, being snoopy. Then having those people tell you that you're fucked up, weird, need help, a danger, or literally being called a demon?
Also in 2026, I'm going to start posting more little snippets of my stuff. Regardless of context. I want to share my work, and I need to get over being anxious about it. I'm not a kid anymore and I no longer have people looming over my life interrogating me about every little thing I create.

In case you wanted to know. It has been quite active with tornadoes in my area the past couple weeks. The storm missed us, but we were in a watch for the day. The sky sure was pretty though. (The rain would have been nice, it was 95F and I was outside for 12hrs...)
We're not quite the land of the midnight sun, but close. I'll take twilight at 11pm. Summer is the time to get shit done.
I don't always try and do photography. But last night cutting hay just had a vibe™️ We're trying to beat the rain coming, and I am forever thankful that I live where I do. Because this picture was took at 10:30pm and we still had roughly an hour of enough light to run.
