Just finished a short story, and now must start the next. I'm still recovering from the last one, lol. The goal this year is to write one a month, and I already have to make up January's because I didn't set the goal until the end of January. No worries, though, I am excited for this next one!

The Widow Woods is finally finished and I'm working on my Query and pitch. I have one, but it's likely in need of another set of eyes. I just joined the Manuscript Academy and can't wait to get into those trenches!
Current vibe at my house, lol. Almost ready to fall apart— Same, house, same.
Lilacs at the golden hour.
Lilacs remind me of you. The sparkle of your smiling eyes— The depth of your rage. The curious way you eyed a vacant piano—the
Ponderous way you worked the garden rows. You loved them so but never could grow them yourself, but now, Mama, I can.
Santana being somewhat photogenic for me this evening. She’s never been a fan of pictures. #catsofbluesky #writercats
That day I released the third book in my first series. #amwriting #oklahomaauthor #authorsofbluesky
My agenda for the next several weeks. Ready to hit it, #writingcommunity? Let's get tapping!
Today, I #amwritingfantasy with a brand new 17 page outline for Book 1 of the Nemeton series. This book is a little outside my #horror zone, but it'll make an interesting #darkfantasy. It's my first big foray into worldbuilding since the Nova Wave series, and I'm eager to bring this one to life.

Some sweet black kitties for your Friday the 13th feed. Izzy and Santana say "hi." #blackcats #catsofbluesky #fridaythe13th
Getting a tiny head start on reading for the 2026 iteration of The #bookreviewchallenge. I’ll be taking 2025 off it to pursue other video creation interests. Watch for monthly-ish channel posts, though this year will be chaotic due to cats, documenting home construction & moving. #cattaleacres
New 2024 Book Review Challenge video is up over on the YouTube Channel. Here's the link!

Perfect!
Hey #writingcommunity and #readingcommunity What are some of your favorite #bookish gifts? (Aside from books, lol.)
I’m fond of useful things that enhance the writing experience, like a genre-themed desk set or writer-centric mugs or tees.

Ooh, indeed.
OK #writingcommunity, where's the best place in the real world to find #inspiration for #writingfantasy and #horror?
12 years ago, I quit my job as a lunchlady & went to school for #writing. I still remember the trepidation that woman felt. I still remember the thrill of possibility. Now, 4 books & several stories later, I can say that it was worth it. This story will probably never be published, but it mattered.
Back to the #WIP after Thanksgiving. So glad I took November off this year. Up next, a #bookreviewchallenge video about launch plans and how to get the word out about your book. Keep an eye out for it.
I’m afraid I’m not ready for anything like this at this time.
Hi folks,
My name is D.E. Chandler. I write Dark Fantasy & Horror. I love to write horror, because it's a great interrogator of society and psychology. Horror confronts taboo in dramatic or subtle ways that ask readers to check their personal moral compass, you know, for decay. 🙃 #HorrorWritersChat
My fur-son loves my robe better than me. It’s the only time I get cuddles from him.
Relatable. I swear I gave myself whiplash once, because I heard the Misty Mountains—and it was a cover.
Congratulations!
Perfect, thank you!
Looking for fellow #oklahomaauthors and #owfi members here on @bsky.app. Where are my #oklahomies?
Here's a question for our #writingcommunity and #horrorwritingcommunity folks. What are some things newer horror writers might not know to keep in mind as they're getting started? I've read a lot and written some, but now I wonder what other advice #horror folks might have.
