My favourite part is that the very next line is Kingpin’s assistant basically telling him “Yeah… no that sucks, we’re not doing that”.

Resident Evil Requiem - Capcom’s “have our cake and eat it too” game. Manages to be a sequel to both RE7 and RE4 and somehow manages to pull both of them off extremely well without either half feeling underbaked. Also lots of fun fan service and hype moments (4.5/5)
Resident Evil 4 - Only remake where I had played the original first and that wasn’t to this game’s advantage. So many of my favourite moments were just missing here and I found the boss fights to be more frustrating than fun. Still, hard to screw up a remake of one of the best games ever. (3.5/5)
Resident Evil Village - Very mixed on this one. It starts off very strong but it has increasingly diminishing returns as it goes on and by the end I just sort of felt lukewarm about it. (3/5)
Resident Evil 3 - The opening hour is fantastic but the game just nosedives in quality after leaving downtown Racoon City as it devolves into an extremely linear corridor shooter. Love Jill, Carlos and Nemesis but I wish they got a better game to feature in (2.5/5)
Resident Evil 2 - The game I’d recommend to anyone interested in getting into the series. Survival horror perfection. (4.5/5)
Resident Evil 7 - Scariest game in the series by far. A great showcase for the value AAA studios have in a genre primarily dominated by low budget indie games. (4/5)
This year I finally got around to playing all the RE Engine Resident Evil games and I thought I’d share my thoughts on them.
The most fitting game to put that message in. Zero really does feel like the end of the more experimental Iwata era Nintendo. Their very next big blockbuster title was Breath of the Wild which is a much more traditional AAA feeling game than any other on Wii or Wii U.
It really bums me out how fast the internet tries to do “analysis” videos of media less than a month after their release.
Saw a lengthy video essay about the Mario Galaxy movie and it’s like, that hasn’t even been in theatres for a week!
I get why this happens but I still hate it.
Them: Ugh it’s been NINE YEARS since the last 3D Mario game.
Me: What are you talking about? Donkey Kong Bananza was last year.
I love video games as much as the next guy, but this would be a big deal breaker for me. $600 for a console is really pushing it let alone $1000.
I know some people will still buy it because there’s always a demand, but I can’t imagine the casual consumer dropping $1000 just to play call of duty.
omg I love Twilight Zone, I’ll have to check this out.
I know this is a joke, but if anyone is complaining about the MCU just being a bunch of cynical crossovers, I think it’s important to remember Marvel have ALWAYS been that way, as far back as the 1940s.
The idea of them being totally separate series is just from the 2000s due to movie rights.
I always find these discussions about why other franchise characters aren’t in spin-offs funny, because it implies that the people talking about this get their entire friend group together every time they have a problem.
Looking at these four I think what I value most in a boss fight is their ability to test the player's skill, which I value above narrative weight or sheer spectacle.
Some of my personal faves
- Cynthia (Pokémon Diamond, Pearl and Platinum)
- Jetstream Sam (Metal Gear Rising Revengeance)
- Snatcher (A Hat in Time)
- Raven Beak (Metroid Dread)
Decided to look up the full review to give them the benefit of the doubt. After skimming through it the author just seems to me to just be giving the most cynical reading possible to a game which appears to irk him mainly due to its popularity above all else.
Title reveals always felt kinda stupid to me, but they feel doubly stupid when the title is just "name of franchise + next number"
Whenever I think of Pokémon takes that haven’t aged well my mind goes to the South Park episode which treated the series Japanese origins with blatant xenophobia.
It's always funny to me looking up what the competitive community thinks about multiplayer games I like. The way they talk about it you'd think it was a totally different game.
As someone who is a big Control fan I’m worried from the perspective that this is so drastically different from the original which I loved so much for being so unique in style and gameplay.
Would highly recommend Black Mirror. It's a really good story featuring Dick Grayson as Batman.
1) Link Between Worlds
2) Ocarina of Time
3) Hyrule Warriors
I know that third one isn’t technically a “Zelda” game but I’ve probably put more hours into it that sub-series combined than any of the main games.

Huzzah! I can finally play through Kanto on the Switch!
(throws Let’s Go Pikachu and Eevee in the trash where it belongs)
Releases a video titled “Geek Critique Banjo Kazooie” becomes a critique of Ocarina of Time 😜
