He is proof positive that not only does anti-Palestinian racism exist within OPSEU, but it is open and tolerated — while those who call it out are silenced.
This is not okay.
As plotting to rebuild so they can “attack & eliminate all Jews” is a disgusting, incredibly dangerous mischaracterization that places those same members (who are also actively appealing for the recognition and eradication of anti-Palestinian racism within our union) at risk for further harm 3/
EBMs hold so much power & when we fail to hold them to the same standards as the rest we tell our rank and file that some members matter more than others, that we will not protect them or prioritize their safety.

I’ve never been so ashamed of my union or its leadership — to punish observers w/o the right to speak by removing them from a meeting for silently protesting harmful & racist remarks of an EBM (in violation of the statement of respect) going unchecked is utterly feckless.

Today, Kat Abughazaleh, congressional candidate for Illinois’ Ninth District, is lending support to Northwestern University’s dining hall workers in their picket. However, her focus on this protest appears to prioritize left-wing rhetoric over practical solutions for Illinois families. In 2025, Illinois will face the nation’s highest tax burden, and no contract or symbolic action will change the harsh economic realities families are already grappling with.
The rumors are true: I did, in fact, picket with Northwestern’s dining hall workers.
Jokes aside, economic security for the working class with always start with unions. You could say they’re the most practical solution.
Decolonization is not something that can be captured, be contained within lines of a map.

Folks make bad choices every day, not just when voting — it just means we need to get up each day & choose solidarity. Keep your head up. Get involved in your community, organize & keep fighting for workers, healthcare, education & public services.

Per that same friend: In 1978 Justin’s daddy did the same thing The union stayed on strike “illegally” CUPW leader Jean-Claude Parrot was thrown in jail. Through their militancy, postal workers have protected all working people, winning and thus normalizing rights like parental leave.
My friend recently said it’s funny how capitalism is lauded as a ‘free market’ economy where sellers set prices which buyers can choose to pay or not - but when workers try to set the price for their labour, the government intervenes to tell them what the price will be

Quit blaming the postal strike on workers who are standing up for safe jobs and fair wages. Union jobs set the standard for all work places & you have CUPW to thank for parental leave - so if you want the strike to end quickly, get your ass out to your local line and show some solidarity 💪
