Any law professors who teach First Amendment as an entire class or within their Con Law class willing to let me take a look at their syllabus and materials? Likely teaching First Amendment next year and want to start preparing my syllabus.

That would be great if you don’t mind. Can share my email or whatever you need.
I don’t know her reasons for apologizing, but I do know that sometimes people’s apologies to colleagues are less about being right or wrong and more about knowing their colleague’s behaviors, how they respond to slights or perceptions of slights, and how those responses can impact others.

Completely classless and out of line from Geno Auriemma. He’s always been a jerk, but this was even worse. Deserving of every bit of critique and scrutiny (and more) that he’ll get because of this.
This has now become my small 2026 request. Stop misusing and overusing the word “decolonize”. It’s not a buzz word. It has meaning, and that meaning really does matter. Find a more appropriate word for what you’re doing, want to do, or claim to be doing.
I might even go further and say that the Supreme Court even hearing this case is seen as a “win” in the eyes of those aiming to eliminate birthright citizenship. The first step is having the challenge be seen as credible legally and by the public. Getting heard by the Court does that for them.
If you’re arguing in front of the Supreme Court and you’re unprepared for a question about Native Americans from Justice Gorsuch, you should basically be disqualified from ever arguing a case under any circumstances ever again. That is the one thing you can pretty much be guaranteed he’ll ask about.
It should be clearly be a 9-0 decision saying just this (really should have never been taken up as something that needed to be adjudicated again). But as it stands, I expect a 7-2 decision with Alito and Thomas having one or more nonsensical dissents.
Why did I write about state court pushback to the Dred Scott decision? Because President Trump’s January 2025 Executive Order directly cited the Dred Scott decision when he took aim at birthright citizenship. And we could see state courts pushback against the Supreme Court again. I'll explain. /1
Bringing this back as it might be relevant soon.
That college education is still valuable and important for growth as a person, exposure to new people and things, and critical thinking. And it shouldn’t be reduced to just taking classes in a specific major and only gaining specific knowledge/skills to obtain a job (often favoring STEM education).
Always a great day when that team in Durham chokes AGAIN.
Neither Republicans nor Democrats deserve the most credit for ending slavery. Enslaved people do, due to rebellion, resistance, and self-emancipation. Mass flight, self-purchase, military service, pushing for abolition, and making slavery untenable/unsustainable through resistance ended slavery.
Two things can be true at once: Just showing up to "No Kings" isn't enough, but for many it's a good start. If someone wants to get in shape/lift but hasn't been in a gym, you can both applaud them for showing up while still acknowledging they need to do more/be consistent to build muscle/endurance.
Whenever Bernie/AOC/Mamdani/etc. do anything that costs money, many misrepresent their views to create a "gotcha" moment. It's not, and they never argued people can't or shouldn't have money/any wealth. Their views revolve around preventing/redistributing extreme wealth and making wealthy pay taxes.
Regardless of what one thinks of Druski’s skit, imitating a white woman isn’t the same as blackface. Blackface has a legacy of dehumanization, racism, and stereotypes that were used to justify slavery, Jim Crow, etc. There’s also the major difference in power dynamics/systemic harm not present here.
Even if one felt Robert E. Lee is worth honoring (I don't. He was a traitor to the Union), Lee, himself, didn't favor Confederate monuments.
Lee: "I think it wiser, not to keep open the sores of war but to follow the examples of those nations who endeavored to obliterate the marks of civil strife."
Almost every reason people have for defunding or abolishing ICE is also a reason to defund or abolish the police, yet many people who are rightly calling for action against ICE would never come close to doing to the same for police. But this fight goes beyond just ICE. ICE represents a larger issue.
Watched “Inside the Manosphere”. It’s interesting how so many of these people exploit/focus on beliefs that many young men think they’re alone/no one cares. Yet rather than create space for support/vulnerability, they default to hating women and resenting that women built support systems men crave.
I think it’s only right that in the future Trump is shown the same amount of grace and decorum that he has shown to others throughout his life and during his Presidency. And all arguing otherwise should be speaking up loudly against his words, actions, and the lack of respect he has given to others.

Ha! Well all the sources seem to indicate he’s gone. Really interested to see who they get.
I think he would have gotten another year if they made R32 without Caleb or Sweet 16 with not a bad showing there. A major issue is also the way he’s lost. Basically not showing growth as a coach, not trusting his team/bench, and blowing a lead because of it. You can’t stagnate at this type of job.
I think so, and they should. Not sure how you don’t, especially because the UNC job is a top 3 job. If they don’t, they lose the fanbase. Only concern I have is Bubba (AD) not wanting to end his tenure with firing Hubert. Newmark (new AD) takes over in the summer, so hope they make the move ASAP.
It’s funny because outside of football/men’s basketball, they’ve actually had a really successful athletics season to the point of being 1st in the Director’s Cup. But ineptitude in the two major sports overshadows it all. Hopefully one coach is out in the new few days though.
Never want to see anyone lose their job but no way Hubert Davis should have the job as head coach of UNC tomorrow. Enough is enough.
I’ve thought for a long time that no matter how great someone might seem or be presented as, we should resist the urge to name things after people and treat them in ways that essentially deify them or elevate them to divine status. Today provides another example that supports that view.
Not only this, but politicians will let you down many times. Rather than idolizing them, praise them when they do right. Challenge and push them when they do wrong. And never lose track of the fact that no matter how great they initially seem, they are politicians who serve their own self-interests.
