Avon (Paul Darrow) stares directly at us. This is his happy face.
Servalan (Jacqueline Pearce), in ruined cocktail frock, chained to that wall.
OTD 1980: Blake’s 7 – Rumours of Death
“It’s an old wall, Avon, it waits…”
B7’s greatest
Chris Boucher’s masterpiece
Film noir love and betrayal
Devastating emotion
Successful revolution
Complicated identities
and Avon’s ‘It’s complicated – no, *very* complicated’ shipping
(Perhaps more later)
And that's our episode on Terminal in the can!
But Rumours of Death is out next...
Production continue, as we prepare to record this episode on Sunday....

We've released episodes on four Series C stories in the last 2-3 months, and - whilst we've certainly had some critical points to make here and there - we've found a lot more positives than we expected!
Where do you stand on the first half of Blake's 7's 3rd season?
I'm listening to Space Fall: A Blake’s 7 Podcast on Podbean, check it out! www.podbean.com/pa/pbblog-wx...
Enjoying this deep dive whilst pondering what Servelans' babies would actually look like. Such severe haircuts
Yes the Bayben stuff is great!

Thanks Alex!
Some really interesting points and good feedback!
Can totally see how it would land different for you, and yes, this is certainly an episode with a lot of different views and opinions!
Hopefully you enjoyed the chat, though!?
That's a really good point!
But, we would argue that it's not in keeping with the shrewdness and cunning of the character in the past?
I used to question the stupidity of villains, particularly the autocratic or fascistic ones, in classic Who. The past decade has changed my mind on this and I now think that when they are written as stupid it is merely a more accurate portrayal. And Servalan is A+ both wicked and dumb here.
I started my first watch through of Blakes 7 on Dec. 31 with one episode each day (and catching up with the corresponding Spacefall podcast eps). This story I found quite dire and I fully appreciated the effort you two put in to finding some nicer things to say about it!
Thanks! We’ve always said that if we don’t think an episode works it’s important to try to understand why, not just sink the boot in.
Does Children of Auron show Servalan at her most ruthless?
Or her most foolish?
Or both?!
We discuss on our chat about this episode! Out now!

Children of Auron is out!
Another set of "big sci-fi" ideas in this one, but what did we make of it all?
Tune in, and find out!

Enjoy! Hopefully the early eps don't sound too rough!!
New profile pic!
Oh! Interesting!
We’re recording our Terminal episode next…
Rumours of Death, and...?
Amazing!
Is City at the Edge of the World the best episode so far in Blake's 7's third season? Or was the an earlier better episode?
Our episode on City at the Edge of the World is out, including our picks for "Player of the Week"!
Who would you rate as the winner for this episode?
Whilst it's always remembered as "the one with Colin Baker", City at the Edge of the World is first and foremost a Vila episode, and we talk a lot about that as we dive deep into the episode, and especially Boucher's writing of the character.

There was certainly a bit of a symbiotic relationship there!
Obviously Darrow was inspiringly great to write for
But hearing you describe how often Avon demonstrates to Tarrant ‘Your idea is stupid; here is how I, a genius, fix it’
Suggests Boucher loved writing Avon to personify ‘The script editor is the coolest person in the show’
#Blakes7
Chris Boucher is back writing, and Colin Baker is the guest star!
Yes, it's time for City at the Edge of the World!
Check out what we made of THIS one!
