The characters from Hospital Playlist were endearing from the start, plus the chemistry among the original cast was clear. The spinoff is…just off so I’m only in it for the cameos. It’s just…I can’t deal with doll-looking humans.

I really liked Hospital Playlist, so thought I’d give Resident Playbook a try….and I just keep getting distracted by the amount of cosmetic surgery the lead actress clearly has had. It’s like looking at a doll from a horror film. Like an uncanny valley

Rewatched Stranger/Secret Forest; still one of my favourite Kdramas ever. Loved the chemistry between Bae Doona and Cho Seung Woo - straight up Mulder & Scully vibes.

Feminists began raising the alarm about the manosphere decades ago – and we were ignored | Laurie Penny We were told we couldn’t take a joke, and that social media isn’t real life. Now the misogyny of early chatrooms and Gamergate has made its way to the White House, says journalist and feminist activist Laurie Penny

'Cosplay is not consent': The rules of dressing up for conventions Cosplayers say their hobby has had an astronomical rise in popularity over the past decade. While the subculture promotes "no limits" creativity, there are still strict rules.

I worked behind the scenes with Iskandhar Razak on this one. As a talking head and giving him access to research and putting in contact with cosplayers, photographers, and events. It's not a bad look at cosplay in Australia

What works for Monarch (for me) are the human emotions & relationships, esp this week’s when we get plenty out of Kurt/Wyatt Russell & Anna Sawai/Mari Yamamoto. The whole pitting Kentaro against everyone is annoying but it goes give Ren Watabe something to do. Still needs Godzilla though 😑

Netflix refuses to acknowledge that I travel regularly to Malaysia and has now blocked my access and the “I’m travelling” feature. This sucks, because I know they just want me to pay for an account in separate countries. 🙄

One of the things that irked me about Project Hail Mary is it's back to that 'lone American saving the world' trope. Which, I supposed, given the state of America and Western media right now, is par for the course. I enjoyed the film, but it screamed 1990s vibe to me. #TheWorldHasMovedOn

A wild thought, but here's something for potential PhD candidates to consider. When you're emailing potential supervisors, don't use AI and at the very least, make sure you're really reaching out to people whose work align with your ideas. It's really not that hard.

Random, but talking about "parasocial interactions" uncritically drives me up the wall. It's such a 'popular' concept nowadays, but no one wants to really, critically engage with it in today's digital context.

Rewatched Netflix’s zombie Kdrama Kingdom for the nth time, and I want to know what happened in between that 7 years damnit! And what happens after everything fades to black!

I know; I say this everytime after I rewatch the show.
