Several parts of a hive are suspended on pieces of wood between two metal storage shelves in the process of being painted white. There is newspaper spread on the floor below them to catch drips.

Have been assembling and painting the hives for the bees. Took nearly 30 minutes to build the first one, but less than 20 for the second. Also I'd found the instructions by then. Today's task is prepping the site. #beekeeping

Black cat's tail sticking up from behind monitor

Trying to figure out invisible forces constantly skewing my monitor. Must be poltergeist.

Much to my relief, not only was the nest not increased, but all the building materials had been moved elsewhere, presumably to a quieter part of the neighborhood. "Too modern," said somebirdy, "I want something more rustic, with a bit of bark. None of this metal and glass"

I was surprised to be honest. We go in and out that door multiple times a day. We'll see tonight if they've come back or decided on a different location.

Stepped out my front door to check the weather this morning, and said an audible " uh-oh "at the sight of a long strand of dried grass dangling at eye level. Sure enough, it looks as though one of our neighbors is considering nesting on top of the light beside the door.

I mean, I'm torn. I feel for you but also more book to read!

Ohh, I think I used to know that, once upon a previous lifetime. Yes, yes, a fellow student did a paper on The Spider & The Fly and mentioned that.

I don't read it particularly, but see people's posts to it regularly, noting "the pink one" from old institutional awareness. Then 20 minutes later someone posted a link to an article about the superiority of estates to SUVs with a picture of my ideal car, an old Volvo. Oh dear. 🙂

Thank you. They said it went well in today's follow up visit, but of course that's what they said last time. At least this time we're a little more prepared (little things like having ready to heat food which can be made with one eye and limited depth perception).

I was a very involved observer, asking questions & reminding everyone of status as they cycled through prep & post-op. Also reading my book rather than my phone in the downtime. The problem is I have *no* idea what Nurse Sarah looks like (weak memories for faces). We'll see how tomorrow goes! 3/3

'Yes, I see, your wife. Your wife [WalnutHulls] Oh, I remember HER!' M burst out laughing. "You remember her but not me?!" To be fair, last time it was emergency surgery that kept them there several hours past normal closing. So I was sitting around with only 2 nurses left during recovery etc. 2/3

5 weeks ago, M had emergency eye surgery (detached retina) and has to go back for a do-over. M recounted doing pre-intake today with the nurse. "It was Nurse Sarah" Me: "I think she was there last time" M: Yes, she took note of when I was there. Then she checked my contact info. 1/3

I'm picturing huge cases on roller skate wheels being towed behind in a little luggage train. 😂😂

Definitely appreciating the much better mileage these days (also a hybrid).

Laps are for luggage? LOL Good luck. This July will be our first family vacation trip with the smaller truck and I'm not sure how it will go. We may need to put a rack on the tow hitch.

Also, I know first week orders matter to various metrics and I try to support when I can. It is something I can do to help you.

There are some authors whose books I don't automatically read, for various reasons. Still tell me about your book day! If I follow you then I am happy for you! Fly, little book, out into the world!

3 weeks ago 3 0 1 0

Dear authors (probably you don't follow me but in case you look back in my history when I follow you), please do mention your book days. I try to pre-order but sometimes get distracted. Also if first week reads matter (idk everything is metrics) then I remember to read. It's never a bother.
