But when the structure starts working, it's a powerful reminder of why building new knowledge is worth the effort.

If you've ever designed a complex study, model, or system from the ground up, you probably know the feeling. I'd be curious what part challenged you the most.

As I move toward completing my dissertation, I'm planning to share a short weekly series reflecting on the research process - from experimental design and interdisciplinary modeling to the unexpected lessons that emerge along the way.

But there is a moment in research that makes all of that effort worthwhile.

It's the moment when the framework finally begins to hold.

When the analysis runs. When the results produce an interpretable signal.

When the data begins to answer the question you built the architecture to ask.

Designing an experiment is rarely the hard part. Designing one that can meaningfully test an original idea is something else entirely. It means wrestling with theory, measurement logic, experimental structure, coding, statistical interpretation, and a steady stream of revisions.

Over the past three years, I've been building an experimental and analytical framework to address a research problem at the intersection of quantum cognition, decision science, and complex human systems.

BlueSky is great. Now, if we could just remove the OnlyFan accounts... Blocking them one at a time is time-consuming.

Academic writing is getting harder to read—the humanities most of all We analyse two centuries of scholarly work

The Economist analyzed 347,000 PhD abstracts published between 1812 and 2023.

They found that, in every discipline, the abstracts have become harder to read, especially in the humanities and social sciences.

Our research needs to be communicated across a multitude of education levels, cultures, and languages. Much of the distrust of science is due to a lack of understanding. Our funding is largely from public sources. It behooves to our benefit to ensure our research is widely understood.

There are already many articles for which there is more attention on Bluesky than on other comparable micro-blogging sites, meaning the academic community and the general public have clearly adopted Bluesky as one of its core places to disseminate and discuss new research.
