But when the structure starts working, it's a powerful reminder of why building new knowledge is worth the effort.
If you've ever designed a complex study, model, or system from the ground up, you probably know the feeling. I'd be curious what part challenged you the most.

As I move toward completing my dissertation, I'm planning to share a short weekly series reflecting on the research process - from experimental design and interdisciplinary modeling to the unexpected lessons that emerge along the way.
But there is a moment in research that makes all of that effort worthwhile.
It's the moment when the framework finally begins to hold.
When the analysis runs. When the results produce an interpretable signal.
When the data begins to answer the question you built the architecture to ask.
Designing an experiment is rarely the hard part. Designing one that can meaningfully test an original idea is something else entirely. It means wrestling with theory, measurement logic, experimental structure, coding, statistical interpretation, and a steady stream of revisions.
Over the past three years, I've been building an experimental and analytical framework to address a research problem at the intersection of quantum cognition, decision science, and complex human systems.

What if a turtle, a quantum particle, and an AI entered a conversation... and didn’t collapse into sameness?
Our track invites radical dialogues across ways of knowing.

Today, we honor American Business Women’s Day, commemorating the founding of the American Business Women’s Association in 1949. From its beginnings, the ABWA championed women across industries—breaking barriers and building opportunities.

“I invite systems scientists, policy architects, and organizational futurists to consider how governance must evolve when reality itself becomes probabilistic, entangled, and nonlinear.” — Eva King

When scientists and experts embrace their roles as constituents and advocates, our society is better equipped to defend against attacks on science and to effectively push for equitable, evidence-informed solutions that protect people's health, safety, and environment.

Thank you, Jillian!
BlueSky is great. Now, if we could just remove the OnlyFan accounts... Blocking them one at a time is time-consuming.
Russian state disinfo bots are active on BlueSky for over 2 weeks now.
They are posting fake videos using AI-generated voice to promote talking points of Russian state.
Please help us to reduce its visibility: follow this labeler, choose Warn or Hide; spread the word:

Glad to see you on BlueSky!
The Economist analyzed 347,000 PhD abstracts published between 1812 and 2023.
They found that, in every discipline, the abstracts have become harder to read, especially in the humanities and social sciences.

Our research needs to be communicated across a multitude of education levels, cultures, and languages. Much of the distrust of science is due to a lack of understanding. Our funding is largely from public sources. It behooves to our benefit to ensure our research is widely understood.
‼️ Holy moly! The TAKE IT DOWN Act—which would criminalize deepfake image-based sexual abuse (aka deepfake porn) and require platforms remove such non-consensual content within 48 hours—has been added to this year's Continuing Resolution.
Vote is on Thurs; HUGE win for victims if this passes. 1/
I will look for the tip pages I found and repost them when I have a chance.

BLUESKY MEGA-THREAD
Altmetric is thrilled and also LITERALLY RELIEVED to officially announce:
We are now tracking research attention as it happens on Bluesky!
We have been picking up posts on the site since late Oct.
Our team is on Bluesky all day answering questions.
Let's get into it!
‘A place of joy’: why scientists are joining the rush to Bluesky Researchers say the social-media platform — an alternative to X — offers more control over the content they see and the people they engage with.: https://www.nature.com/articles/d41586-024-03784-6
There are already many articles for which there is more attention on Bluesky than on other comparable micro-blogging sites, meaning the academic community and the general public have clearly adopted Bluesky as one of its core places to disseminate and discuss new research.
A Place of Joy.
“Science…is under attack. …
whether science should be political…is…moot…
Given…the expansion of attacks on science, it is time for scientists to be more effective, forceful, and vociferous as their own political advocates.”

I am new to BlueSky, just like most of you. Here are a few of my favorite scientists, academics, and generally interesting people who have found their way here. It is a little eclectic so you can pick and choose your favorites.
