It will do what you tell it to do (most of the time) but Claude code certainly knows true TDD (in theory). I use hooks to enforce test first.

XP Practices as a mind map
Most of the XP practices are relevant. Image adapted from XP Explained 2nd ed with @kentbeck.com's permission.
I love your three principles for 'searching for the system'. Simple, powerful, clear thinking. Thank you!
You're thinking of Greenit.
I suppose you could call sheet music a vintage record player. Just add musicians and out comes the music.
Some friends here follow my RAREblog. Old content will stay in the old location, but all new posts and notes will be on rareblog.substack.com
My current geeky project (not quite finished) is to plot how the current varies with voltage when you drive an LED. Video below:
We don't take the US seriously anymore, and probably won't for years. In 100 days Trump has destroyed decades of U.S. worldwide social capital.
They are amazing. I'm running a 1 TB Postgres database on an 8 GB model with 4 TB of nvme flash.
You're wrong, but not in the way you're asking about. I think a depression is more likely. A perfect mix of Tariffs, AI uncertainty and Climate change, in a time of government by amateurs.
Dow Jones falling in 1929 took 20 years and a word war to recover half its peak value.
One of the warnings for 1929 was when your shoe-shine boy (buying on margin) gave you stock tips. Now it's tips and margin buying from everyone on social media. Here's what happened to the Dow (1929-1949): it took 20 years to recover half its peak value.
Hard hat time.
After years of blogging about Digital Maker stuff on blogger, I'm switching to substack: substack.com/@romillyc/no...
Scope for a spot of blessing, too.
Technical analysis often requires the user to 'recognize a pattern', and the evidence for technical analysis usually takes the form of past 'patterns' that preceded profitable opportunities. Hindsight bias at its best.
recent polling is just a total repudiation of the idea that full spectrum opposition to trump across every area was/is a bad idea
I sing silly songs to pretty well anyone who lets me, and some who don't. Here's one just for you :)
"If the sun's in your eyes, how d'you keep off the flies?
A sunhat with visor would really be wise."
I'll spare you the tune, 'cos I haven't made one up yet.
"What's wrong with being drunk?"
"Ask a glass of water!"
I'll have to send my fish through the mail from the UK, but I guess that will work.

<joke>Surely you're not suggesting that names in code matter?</joke>
I hadn't read my Hanna Arendt. I am now. Thank you.
You can't have too many of those things.
Isn't that a cache? It's there to avoid duplicates (>1 instance of the representation of the same biz entity), and it needs weak refs to stop it filling up for ever. And yes,it's an adapter; that's the thing you usually mock if you want to mock the DB.
Today I asked Claude to create a FORTH VM. It wrote a lightweight implementation of the language for the Raspberry Pi Pico in Python, along with documentation, in about a minute.
The project is on GitHub, and there's a short demo video.

Please give an extra push for me.
I still find it useful, though I refuse to spend any money on it. But life here is incomparably gentler and more interesting.
Thanks! It's back up. It was out for ~ 15 minutes.
Is X down atm? Asking for a friend :)
