TONIGHT!

Lincoln City v Wrexham
FA YOUTH CUP
3rd Round Proper

This evening at 7.00pm, Nick Chadwick’s U18’s take on Lincoln City.

Since we first entered the FA Youth Cup in 1953/54, we have only reached the 4th Round once before in 1982/83, losing to SWFC.

Let’s hope we can make it again!

OTD 1978

Wrexham 4-3 West Ham Utd

Our first ever game against The Hammers - and what a cracker!

John Lyons scored the first Wrexham hat-trick at this level, along with Alan Hill.

David Cross, Frank Lampard and Pop Robson replied.

John very sadly took his own life four years later aged just 26 🖤

OTD 1970

Gillingham 1-2 Wrexham

After we were promoted the previous season, this was our first visit to Priestfield in 8 years.

18yo striker @billyashcroft9 was making just his sixth appearance and he scored his 3rd and 4th goals for us to win the game.

A great team this 👍

OTD 1974

Wrexham 1-1 Blackburn Rovers

50 years ago today, we entertained league leaders Blackburn.

19 year old Joey Jones scored his first ever goal at The Racecourse a minute after John Waddington looked to have won it from the spot.

Rovers went on to win the title by 1 point.

OTD 1986

Wolves 0-3 Wrexham

38 years ago, goals from Buxton, Cooke and Comstive continued our good start to the season.

It’s hard to believe that a club like Wolves were languishing in mid-table of the bottom tier then.

This was also Steve Bull and Andy Thompson’s WWFC debuts.

REFEREE WATCH

Wrexham v Exeter City

The man in the middle will be Steve Martin from Staffordshire.

Steve is known for his no-nonsense, hard man approach.

He booked 11 players at Middlesbrough v Stoke a few weeks ago and once sent off Frank Sinclair for Wrexham.

A very Happy 48th Birthday to the man, the legend, Emad Bouanane 🎂🎉

Born and raised in Paris, a young Emad’s dreams of one day playing away at Aberystwyth Town in the FAW Premier Cup became a reality.

In the short video against Bournemouth, there was only one star on show.
