Great piece from @jessicanix.bsky.social on the parents coming around to vaccines amid the measles outbreak--and how physicians are gently guiding them:

I figured it out but it is…deeply annoying rather than satisfying
It is infuriating! I might have to let go of my streak, which ultimately could be liberating, but...
If you've ever had a loved w/pancreatic cancer, you know it's a huge deal for a drug to give people more time. For my latest @opinion.bloomberg.com, wrote about the stunning early results for $RVMD's daraxonrasib, which start to write a new chapter for this cruel disease. (gift link):
A relief to see a steady hand nominated for CDC director. But a sensible choice doesn't resolve the bigger issue when it comes to guiding Americans' public health agency: Can RFK Jr. get out of her way? My latest for @opinion.bloomberg.com:

Can't tell you how happy it makes me to deliver some good news this week. Lil' video on very promising data on an experimental pancreatic cancer drug.
This is what real progress looks like for one of the deadliest cancers, says @lisamjarvis.bsky.social 🎥

With RFK Jr. talking up the Rural Health Transformation Fund in his House testimony, reupping my recent column on its limitations:
I'm so so sorry, Brian. This cancer is so cruel.
And 100% on better testing-- I keep watching and waiting for real scientific progress on that front. (and of course: a cure!!)
Allbirds announced they’re an AI company now.
That's incredible and incredibly rare-- I'm so happy for them/their families.
This cancer stole my father-in-law from us in 2022- we only got about 3 months with him after his diagnosis.
And I would be remiss if I didn't post my feature from a decade ago that talks about the early beginnings of this drug. It's a wonky one! But suffice to say that ten years later, researchers are finally figuring out how to tackle one of cancer's biggest drivers-- that's also huge!

Perfect. No notes.
I worried this was going to be one of those depressing surprises where your longstanding sense of what is healthy is upended, but in fact: whew! and yay!
Swalwell drops out of the race for California governor
Orban has conceded
These policies "manufacture a scapegoat while the real challenges to women’s sports go unaddressed: unequal funding, limited access to training and facilities, pay disparities, male-dominated leadership, gender-based violence and harassment across race, sex, sexual orientation and gender identity."
Seen during Artemis II’s lunar flyby on April 6, 2026, the Moon and Earth align in the same frame, each partially illuminated by the Sun. The Moon’s surface appears in sharp detail in the foreground, while Earth sits much farther away, smaller and softly lit in the background. A faint reflection in the spacecraft window is also visible, subtly overlaying the scene. Credit: NASA
Welcome home, Artemis II astronauts!! Thank you for making my month with your incredible journey around the moon--and for reminding us all of the wonder that can happen from an investment in team science. On that front, my recent @opinion.bloomberg.com (gift link):

Close up of a gleeful black and brown dog face with her left ear fully extended and her right ear ticket behind her head.
My dog had a very expressive ear moment earlier today.
Women are inundated with advice on how to age well, and these days they are especially bombarded w/advice on the "right" way to work out. The research shows muscle REALLY matters for older women--but building it doesn't need to be so complicated. My latest for @opinion.bloomberg.com:
“.. Educating Donald Trump has been an expensive and perilous proposition, for the US and the world. .. presidents shouldn’t need the White House to be their finishing school ..”

The moon was still out when I awoke today & I stood in my living room grinning at it for awhile-I mean, can you believe that yesterday, the Artemis crew was RIGHT THERE?
My latest @opinion.bloomberg.com is on the awe-inspiring mission as a crucial reminder of the value of investing in science. (🎁)
And why yes, I have been listening to this as I write (please feel free to add your own moon songs to my Artemis soundtrack):
