Instrument that looks like it's made of blue and green perspex, balanced on a black stand. There are black arrows on the different tubes and parts. This is a iagram showing the chip that is going to be the core element of the device used in the new ERC Proof of Concept project led by Professor Jörg Enderlein: Plasmonic microchip for absolute and calibration-free luminescence quantum yield measurements (QYieldChip). A model of a human sitting at a desk looking at sophisticated images on a computer screen where information is moving into the cloud and round from their computer. There are 1 and 0s in the background to show that data is being processed and sent. BiQ-Cloud is a new platform with the aim of making biomedical image analysis as simple as streaming a film: anyone, anywhere will be able to turn raw microscope images into answers in minutes. Yesterday, we had our first virtual FEStokes-RePair ( fe-nerd-games.github.io/FEStokesRePa... ) game night.
It was fun. We experimented with the FEStokes-Repair Validator app and we even developed a Poker version of the game. #gameon #festokesrepair #FiniteElements

FE-Stokes-Re-Pair Skat90 Spielkarten The aim of the game is for all players to collaboratively combine as many stable finite-element discretizations for the Stokes problem as possible fr

You can get the card game here: www.printerstudio.de/sell/designs... (in case you have recommendations for other card printers, let me know) or print it yourself: raw.githubusercontent.com/fe-nerd-game... .

To celebrate and share the fun, we’re hosting an online game night on January 9th at 6:30 PM (CET). Everyone is welcome to join and try the game – no prior knowledge required! 🃏 fe-nerd-games.github.io/FEStokesRePa...

In autumn, we got the first edition printed, and it became a gift several times during the holiday season. #FEStokes-RePair

Coming up with a "cheat sheet" that reveals which discretiations are working (and possibly achieve additional properties) was difficult and we are currently working on a small web app to explore this more interactively. #FEStokes-RePair

The rules can be downloaded on our homepage fe-nerd-games.github.io/FEStokesRePa... . Alternatively, more conveniently, we also uploaded a NotebookLM-generated Podcast on the games rules that explain it (surprisingly?) well. Here is an excerpt of it. #FEStokes-RePair

The game uses the finite element discretization of the Stokes equations as a metaphor. Stokes discretizations need compatible choices of velocity and pressure unknowns or stabilizations. Finding working combinations makes it fun for researchers and students in numerical analysis. #FEStokes-RePair

✨ A small dream came true last year: In the past year, we developed our very own (nerd) card game: FEStokes-RePair! 🎉🃏
