Because all tech decisions are made by a few people.
The distribution, implementation, and management of technology should be democratically decided.
Does that help?
I’m really happy with how this came out 🥰😅
The "protopian" aspect is that this revolution isn't achieved through a single violent overthrow 😅
but through the prototypical building of a new system within the old one (see interstitial)
Each collective resolution of a resource allocation problem, is proof that a democratic economy is possible.
Interstitial.
Convivial.
Horizontalidad: (Spanish:
"horizontalism") A social relationship of non-hierarchy that emphasizes direct democracy and collective action. It emerged from the Argentine factory occupations.

It's about extending the principle of "one person, one vote" from the political sphere (where it's often limited) into the economic sphere, which dictates the material conditions of our existence.
Change happens in small, cumulative steps.
It's not about a sudden, world-altering event, but about countless tiny innovations and adjustments that add up to significant improvement over time.
It's about democratizing the bedrock of daily life: the economy.
Protopia isn't a perfect end state; it's a state of becoming.
Progress is measured in incremental steps.
↔️ A Process, Not a Destination ↔️
Protopia is a direction, not a place. The focus is on the continuous process of improvement, adaptation, and problem-solving. There is no "finish line."
To serve as a tangible, functioning counter-example to the mantra "There Is No Alternative" (TINA).

You can't understand a resource-based or participatory economy by just reading about it.
What are some other ways to describe what we’re doing:

Hi 😍😍
RUST?
CyberSyn was cool for its time. We’re building on that idea: a free, shared IoT that can automate mutual aid or shared resources.
Like a Tool Library but (eventually) for EVERYTHING.
Open source (non-commercial license) and free
Next Steps So you're ready to change the world. Great! So are we. And we have very little time. The more we delay, the more people suffer and die, so let's get to work. What we need is more than to simply proselytize the message of this pamphlet and hope that when enough people read it and agree with it, then the world will change. That's not a realistic theory of change. We need to give people reasons to believe in this message that they can see and touch, that make it a 'going concern' for them that they come to interact with on a daily basis.
We made our first pamphlet!

Do you think all we have to do is a little something, each of us contributing into a larger more powerful system?
One of the weaknesses of this approach is that it becomes diffused through inefficient networks.
We don’t know what the other ones are doing or what they need.

It’s happening already? That was fast
A decentralized, non-commercial, and post-transactional network where: • People share goods, skills, services, care, and time freely. • There is no money, no barter, no IOUs-just uncoerced giving. • Participation is voluntary, mutual, and grounded in compassion, not scarcity. • It is built to scale without hierarchy, self-heal against exploitation, and resist all forms of central control or hidden rent-seeking. • Its purpose is to render coercion obsolete, and thereby remove the final mechanisms of systemic suffering, in principle.

We’re making an open-source internet of everything, like a network of libraries and mutual aid systems
