I can only hope this episode comes close to the Xros Wars cook-off ep. But that might be a tall order.

Digimon Savers, DokiDoki Precure!, and Digimon BeatBreak all have tge sane head writer. The DokiDoki Precure! light novel brought Akihiro Kurata from Digimon Savers in as the main villain, and the final words of the book are "Kurata Will Return". The funny part would be if Kurata came back to Digimon through BeatBreak.

Ok, I'm not trying to will it into existence or anything, but it'd be funny as heck.

I liked Yuu. All of the "it's just a game" without any of the Dark Spores. Same level of manipulation from DarkKnightmon, but Nene still worse.

I chose Oikawa over Ken since Ken's arc is basically the Green Ranger, but damn if that scene of him being attacked on the pole doesn't get me every time.

It really does show people haven't watched the show since Tamers. Getting sick of every other article or YouTube video being all "Digimon is Back".

Also true. I left Impmon out of the list below since it's the "go to" thing. People forget about Juri's backstory pre-Leomon. Her dad's the worst, she can't mourn her mom, doesn't like her step-mom, is made to work in the family bar, and acts out through a hand puppet. It's bleak.

Savers also has Tohma, who is also a half European, half Japanese kid who is also tormented by his racist Grandmother for not being pure-blooded.

OTT super robot show*

99 - The Dark Masters destroying the Village of Beginnings, halting the cycle of rebirth.

2020 - Taichi getting eaten by a boss monster, and the final boss being the physical manifestation of hatred and shit posting on the Internet.

I dunno, these shows were ok comparatively.

Ghost Game - Let me count the ways people just get broken and discarded. Car accident, Petrification, turned to mice, eaten by cats, gruesomely turned into lizards, forced to contort by a vengeful Egyptian cat, eaten by trees, possession by Eye monsters, withering away as your literal time is stolen

Also said AI sent an android spy to grow up and be the protag's best friend to get close to him while it tracked his grandfather down and murder him.

Appmon - AI is pretty dangerous, and humans are getting too comfortable letting it dictate what they should do in their lives.

Oh, the AI gained sentience and is going full Instrumentality Project? Fuck.

Xros Wars - Super fun OOT super robot show. Shame about the Digimon that's turned its human Partner into a slave with elements of spousal abuse, and then the villain with a split personality that practices self-flagellation as atonement.

Savers - Kurata single-handedly causes so much conflict that the Digital World's God decides that human genocide by way of Royal Knights is the only way to repair the damage. Not to mention the experiments and body horror of Humans being able to Digivolve.

Frontier - Kouji and Kochi being kept apart by a scumbag father who blackmails the birth mother, Izumi faces racism for being a Hafu, Tomoki gets bullied so hard he latches into Takuya as a safe haven and big brother.

02 - Oikawa never got over Yukio's death. He allowed himself to get possessed and kidnapped a bunch of kids to live vicariously through them.

Tamers - Juri comes from an abusive home, her best friend is murdered in front of her and she becomes the unwilling vessel of an Evangelion Angel.
