I have travelled in China, and while they are taking extraordinary forward steps with technology and their infrastructure, the pollution was so bad in places like Chongqing or Xian that you couldn't clearly see the buildings on the other side of the river. It will get better but they ain't there yet

Thank you Bandcamp, a very wise and proactive move. I can't be the only one frustrated with my chosen music streaming platform (Tidal in my case) and the proliferation of AI slop hijacking established band names, and showing up as 'new releases' from followed artists.
I keep being pushed to use Threads with spurious 'notifications' on my Instagram. All I can ever see there is a load of engagement bait, divisive questions almost certainly from bot accounts. Musk's deliberate destruction of Twitter is a travesty.
So true! Charity shops over here have wised up and not always for the best. A record that might be worth something is usually priced at Mint when it looks like it has been trampled by elephants.
Must be shite to be a vinyl collector these days, where a box of K-Tel and Harry Secombe records that look like they have been savaged by wolves and stored in a puddle are on FB Marketplace and priced like obscure prog/early black metal.
For anyone in the UK, if you can't make a show for whatever reason, use the Ticketswap app. You can't list your tickets for more than the original advertised price and a fan can see the show. You get your money back (or most of it) and everyone wins.
The Sex Pistols with Frank Carter were great tonight at the 100 Club. It was a privilege to see them banging out their classics in a small room. FC seemed to be enjoying every second, and was respectful to the originals without trying to imitate Lydon.
It's horrible how binary some of the big political issues have become for some. I have seemingly lost a long-standing friend over a disagreement on a single issue despite being otherwise aligned elsewhere. Thankfully I know many others I often disagree with, and we avoid those subjects and crack on
Managed to get tickets for that Sex Pistols show at the 100 Club next week. Which is nice.
I listened to the first two episodes this morning and enjoyed them thoroughly. It also made me think the battery in my smoke alarm needs replacing.

If you were stuck in traffic around Camden earlier this afternoon, then it was because of this silly bollocks.

As delighted as I am that Fulham are one up, it's been a piss poor game of football so far.
In other news, that Rooney has got a proper 10 gallon head.

It was great to see Opeth in Brum last night at the impressive Symphony Hall, and to catch up with Mike, Mendes and co for a bit after.

I'll have one!
Being mostly office bound these days, a Saturday 0430 start for proper locations work has definitely been a shock to the system.

Chuffed to have been in this band making such a fucking racket. Loads of others tried but were never as good.
Never rated his work in Black Midi, always considered the guitar a weak link against that incredible rhythm section. But I am happy to be proved wrong.

An absolute gold mine of heavy metal riffage. Pure gold from the criminally overlooked Trouble.

I haven't worked in the music game for at least 10 years, but this apparently doesn't stop people thinking I can magically procure tickets for whatever sold-out event is happening. I wouldn't have the front to ask for myself, let alone someone else.
I love my job, but I only get to go to about 50% of gigs/events that I buy tickets for thanks to schedule changes. Looks like I shall be missing out on the Mulholland Drive screening hosted by EoH @mikemuncer.bsky.social and @bunnydarke.bsky.social tomorrow. Bugger.

Weekend at Bernie's - The Musical
Poster for the film Nosferatu
Loved it, a proper feast for the eyes.
Loved that, thanks for sharing
It's my dad's 95th birthday today and sadly I am going to miss it. I have come down with a horrendous lurgy that has completely put me on my arse, and can't risk passing anything on to him. Absolutely gutted.
Fist-chewingly brilliant as ever.
I shall have to bow out this evening. While over the worst of the lurgy, I would almost certainly be coughing and spluttering throughout when others are there to enjoy the film. Bugger.
Tickets are still available, so I fully recommend going if you can.
