While MAGA plays culture war around renewables, China added 119 GW of new solar and wind in a single month (www.ecowatch.com/china-solar-...)
In context, that's four times the *total* monthly electricity capacity of a US State like Ohio (27.4 GW).

Absolutely. He was central to electing someone who was loud and clear about being anti-renewables. Why is he remotely surprised? We're not.
Totally. There was a lot of guffawing here on BlueSky when Reform announced it, which is a mistake, as this will cut through.
The same principle applies to newsstands. Here in the UK, there are 20k odd newsagents, including in every airport, supermarket, etc. Few people still read the papers, yet many are exposed to the loud front pages of the right-wing press, passing them several times a day.
'Whatever malicious thing can be found anywhere in the world can be found [in London]… actors, jesters, smooth-skinned lads, Moors, flatterers, pretty boys... quacks, belly dancers [and] sorcerers'.

Fmr President Clinton: Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu has long wanted to go to war with Iran
It's straight out of Reform, the idea that the wicked metropolitan elites have been running the show in opposition to good honest folk- "The Anywhere worldview has dominated most Western societies for a generation, and populism is the Somewhere pushback. London is the capital of blue state Britain"
The cruelty in all this is unbelievable
The best thing about all this is that neither has any measure of self-control, meaning this will just run and run and run.
I bet they have no idea that they've actually signed up to a major climate change prevention idea, as there's a lot of research going into contrail avoidance measures
It's a gift for Reform. They'll be able to sound off about something that no one really wanted in the first place, while the real issues that could make everyone's lives better get pushed to the side
Incredible, there is no bottom
Given that they say that iPhone costs would triple if made in the US, it would be worth just paying the 25% tax (assuming such a thing, an Apple tax, is even possible or legal)
Actually sounds like Maduro in his later years
The absolute disgrace taking place today in front of cameras in the White House is yet another reminder that for all the talk of Joe Biden's failures, the people who failed America the most are our citizens. Empowering this guy (again) was a foreseeable disaster we'll be lucky to survive.
Trump's press events with world leaders that he doesn't like are quickly becoming the weirdest moments in U.S. history.
He was better prepared than Zelensky, because he knew it was coming (and it helps that Ramaphosa is a native English speaker).
Trump loses it at Peter Alexander: "What are you talking about? You oughta get out of here ... you're a terrible reporter. You don't have what it takes to be a reporter. You're not smart enough ... Brian Roberts and the people that run that place they ought to be investigated."
WTF? Trump is at it again ambushing Ramaphosa in the White House. He's doing much better than Zelensky
Has one result of this been more traffic via the Middle East hubs? (Dubai, Doha, etc.)
Several friends have told me in recent years that *insert country* is immune to the far-right, and yet just a few years later they are surging in the polls in each of those places. We still don't talk enough about the supercharged hatreds that algorithms have pumped into our society.
Social media this morning is a zombie apocalypse of dinosaur Tory politicians and right wing hangers-on hankering after the nasty Brexit wars of the last decade. Our country has moved on!
I'm actually surprised it says the average is five. I had assumed it would be much less.
The unbelievable condescension we’re already seeing today towards working class people- suggesting they don’t travel to Europe or their kids might not want to go to university and study in Europe- is quite something to behold.
In my new book, we discovered that not just one funding gap kills promising climate tech. It's three distinct chasms.
The most treacherous? When startups with successful pilots try to jump to commercial production. Even $100M isn't enough.

This is excellent -
"There is no modern ailment which cannot be lain at their door. They are the perfect foil for right and left: a simple compelling villain whose malevolence explains a complex world."
"This other party got loads of votes, so now I'm going to copy their policies to show everyone that they are right and that you should carry on voting for them"
There are nearly 20k newsagents nationwide, including every supermarket and train station. Millions of us are subjected to the screaming front pages of the Sun and Mail every day, even while not reading the actual paper. Over time, those messages from what are basically ad billboards sink in.
