A not insignificant part of my job is swatting away copilot like a fly buzzing around my head. It now re-enables itself every few hours after toggling off in Outlook for Mac (MS confirmed it’s a known bug). With vibe coding I assume the quality of MS Office products will get even worse!

Finished my HomeKit dash (repurposed iPhone 12 in kiosk mode). Also printed a new stand to fit the grovemade desk organizer (I reused the bottom plate of the original stand, made for an iPhone 4 lol).

Today’s project is resurrecting an old phone/ipad to use as a homekit dash (in kiosk mode). May the best device (with the least spiciest pillow battery) win!

We've had a PHEV for almost two years. It made sense back then, now we'd get an EV no question. If it gets people to the other side, fine.

BUT I rarely exceed 30mi daily and charge every night. I only refuel before the occasional long road trip. I just think of it as an extremely limited EV.

I emailed their support and asked them to disable all AI features on my account about a year ago after encountering something like this, and the previous functionality was restored. Now I’m living in blissful ignorance.

At this point, they could offer pre-iOS 26 Maps as a premium app and I would pay for it. Liquid glass made Maps borderline unusable on my iPhone 13.

+1 for 2004 tech, I have M-Audio Studiophiles that have been my daily speakers for 22 years. Those Regas look great.

Thanks! Sadly no, the connector needs a crimping tool which I don’t have. For kicks I soldered the four wires directly to the traces and it worked! That said there’s no way I can fit it back in the housing so I’m just going to bypass the sensor for this humidifier. Cool to know it worked tho :)

A small PCB with a humidity sensor held up next to a power cord of a humidifier. The power cord has wires that should be going to the PCB, but have come detached from their leads and connector.

Was expecting cold solder joints on this failed humidistat but it was straight up ripped from the wires (+ cold joints). Cool! Unsure how to proceed, the connector leads seem super finicky. Maybe I'll solder the wires directly to PCB? Obviously my first time attempting anything like this. :P

You can always hold it up to your windows pc in a threatening manner when it misbehaves. Intimidation check!

You know what? I'll admit it. The credible threat by a madman to wipe out a nation of 90 million people for basically no reason (presumably using nuclear weapons) successfully distracted me. I am now distracted.

Star Trek The Search for Spock scene. Our Lord Spock is pictured in a white robe. He stands surrounded by his shipmates who are all older here than they were in the TV show. Sulu is smiling and touching Spock's chest for some reason. Uhura, Chekov, Scotty, and Bones stand close and all seem thrilled to see him, but are otherwise practicing self control and not feeling his chest.

Despite being surrounded by friends, Spock is staring only at Kirk, for obvious reasons.

Nice find- I had ViewSonic and Samsung 19” 1600x1200 screens back in the early 00’s and they each weighed like 40 pounds - couldn’t get rid of them fast enough when Dell came out with the 2001fp lcd (25ms latency was considered good). Different times :P
