I've set myself the challenge to raise funds for @nspcc.bsky.social, just before I come to the end of my 55th journey round the sun. I'm also % matching donations to support @survivorsuk.bsky.social. Any & all donations very gratefully received. TIA

I've had the privilege of supporting this school over the past 12yrs or so. We can s/times use the term 'transformative' a bit too loosely - but what the staff, under an inspirational leadership team, have done here is truly transformative.

Nearly half of schools give families financial help, teachers say A survey of teachers in England suggests lots of schools are having to provide extra help for families.

🧮Nearly half of schools!

📺 I saw this news report last night.

🗣️”The school prepares bags of emergency supplies for children who suddenly become homeless.”

It's also worth watching the BBC News piece from today which beautifully captures how the staff @StNichsBoston go the extra mile and further. There's such a strong beating heart in that school.

Watching this sent warm shivers down my spine. Wonderful to see the heart-work of @StNicPriAcad being recognised in this way.

Good to see you got out there. The mix of rain + dark + wearing glasses put me off from running last night. 4yrs ago I did such a run - and went crashing into a bus stop (I know - how did I not see it?!). Laid me off running for 4mths, which was more painful than the actual injury. #edurunners

So proud to see the amazing commitment of staff at Boston St Nich's being acknowledged in this way. I've had the privilege of witnessing 1st hand the transformation of the school - truly inspiring.

"It's important for us to provide sanctuary," Mrs Booth says. "You know you'll be loved, you'll be fed, watered, and you'll get a hug on the gate."

More to the point, are you waiting to go in for a concert - and if so, who/what? Lovely venue. Got to see David Gilmour there a few years ago and hearing the opening riff to Shine on you crazy diamond as I sat up in the choir stalls was akin to a spiritual experience.

Agreed, Andy. We need to promote more conversations for ourselves and for those we work with/support around the theme of 'showing up for ourselves'.

What a great, honest and thought-provoking blog, Ed. Tone was spot on IMO - and will invite leaders and others to reflect upon the extent to which they s/times don't show up for themselves. You point to things that really do need taking account of if we are to be effective in whatever we do.

I'd echo your recommendation. I wasn't sure about visual of RW's face portrayed as an ape - but have to say it was very powerful and worked so well. A great film - and I hadn't expected to be saying that.

I need a couple of badges made ASAP. Anyone know someone with a badge maker and a few minutes to spare in the next day or two? Would mean a lot to someone...

Just into the final episode - for the second time round! Superb! Stephen Graham is one of our finest actors - and he's supported by other excellent actors. A gripping storyline.

As a self-employed person, I think that Blue Sky & LinkedIn posts are my (poor) substitute for a team Christmas lunch. I'm hoping there are others out there for whom this resonates, and it doesn't just reflect how sad I am ... (cue invite for lots of replies saying 'Me too, Steve')

Oh my days! That takes me back! And i have to say - what on earth was that all about - having primary age children singing about knights winning their spurs, riding through the land for God and for valour?????

Let's make sure we make it happen! I will be in touch early Jan to see what's possible.

With the holiday season either coming up, here (or is it 'upon us' - an interesting phrase), some musings on the theme of 'Rest - Is it really something to be earned??'

I heard yet another heartfelt recommendation for this programme just yesterday, Ed. Looks like it's got to go to the top of my 'to watch list' - tissues at the ready. Wishing you a peaceful & restorative break when it comes. Great to have connected with you finally IRL the other week.
