Hoodoo is often mistaken for Voodoo because they're both African based spiritual practices. They're very different though because Hoodoo evolved in the Bible Belt region of the Deep South, and it's not a straight up closed religious practice like Voodoo. You have to be initiated to practice Voodoo.
