If you're interested in getting more involved with CNL, or center-left politics in general, this is a great opportunity for hands-on experience with advocacy, research, event planning and more.

The war on our federal government through DOGE isn’t making it more efficient—it’s just inflicting pain on thousands of talented workers and making America less secure and competitive.

cannot overstate the degree to which i am negatively polarized against nimbys.

like, if you go to a public meeting to speak against lower cost housing i think the city should eminent domain your house and your house specifically

Elon Musk doesn't give a shit if he ruins the holidays for every member of Congress or federal employee, he'll be sitting at his computer rage posting all night anyway, because he has nobody in his life who truly loves him.

Short-term workforce training is one of the most promising (and popular!) policies out there to help folks without a college degree. Stood out for us again and again in our research with PPI. Working class voters are under no illusion: the 20th century job market is gone. Lets help people prosper.

It’s Time to Expand Pell Grants to Include Short Term Workforce Programs Over the past few decades, most kids have grown up being told by their parents that getting a four-year college degree is the best way to get ahead in life. Today, however, as the cost of college has

At a time when employers across the country are struggling to find skilled workers, it's more important than ever to pass bipartisan legislation that would expand access to these programs.

There are colleges across the country that offer high-quality short-term programs that can be crucial for the local workforce, but under current law, these programs are ineligible for Pell Grants.

New from me in RealClearEducation for @progressivepolicy.org: Under current law, Pell Grants can not be used for programs under 16 weeks in length.

I argue that this outdated policy should be changed, so that students can use Pell Grants for high-quality short-term programs.

Make It Legal to Build The Yes In My Backyard, or YIMBY, movement believes that solving the housing shortage entails removing impediments to adding supply.

"At the heart of the YIMBY argument is the recognition that decades of deliberate policies to limit the supply of housing have caused housing to become scarce and expensive." @robertcruickshank.com

Congress has the opportunity to pass the bipartisan YIMBY Act during the current lame-duck session, but partisan squabbling is preventing the bill from being brought to a vote.

historically Boulder NIMBYs said they were "protecting the environment" and co-opted the Sierra Club.

instead they were promoting sprawl and the destruction of habitats outside of city limits

Mind you, I had just made national news 3 months prior for my CTC poster, and was going viral every day for my yimby posters. Absolute insanity to ask for something so abhorrent, and expect me to do it for free.

Oh I’ve always been gloves off about this incident. She asked me about this when I was a broke college student, and while I thought it was horrible, I inquired about how much she would pay, to which she basically gave me the “paid in exposure” line.

While I also don’t like the fact that so many are celebrating the dudes death, I don’t think the person that once asked me to make her a “mock tourism poster for Florida marketing it as LeperLand” should be allowed to say anything about American’s depravity.
