Just published my first Zed theme github.com/dvhthomas/pe... @zed.dev, thanks for merging the PR :-)
Released CalcMark 1.1.6 with a huge number of fixes to the basic editing experience. Like cut, paste without majorly messing up a document π github.com/CalcMark/go-...
See calcmark.org for instructions.
CalcMark terminal user interface showing a calculation on the left pane, and the results on the right pane. There is an autosuggest box showing how to write a capacity demand calculation.
I wrote a little calculator + Markdown combo called CalcMark: calcmark.org.
Involuntary shiver right there π¬
I've been to lots of cities around the world and the most "haunted by the spectres of their pasts" vibes I've gotten were in Phnom Penh (where you can still see ex-Khmer Rouge hanging out) and Charleston, where it feels like slavery's evils are in every single cobblestone and grand old structure
Phnom Penh had a psychic weight you can feel. I'll never forget the Tuol Sleng Genocide museum as long as I live. Visiting the killing fields was just as harrowing. As you say, a lot of those people are still around. Brrrr. Ugh.
I've finally been writing down recipes in one spot that I can quickly find them. Big fonts, no ads, no story: just ingredients and instructions. bitsby.me/recipes/ #cooking
Recipe web sites just make me want to cry so I decided to add a Recipe section to my website: bitsby.me/recipes/. Zero ads, barely any story, just recipes that work with butter-covered fingers on a slippery phone screen. Complete with search-engine friendly metadata on steps and ingredients.
A text user interface in bright clashing green and magenta
When you're trying to figure out where your text user interface (TUI) app is *not* themed correctly. Bright colors help, but wow are they hard on the eyes.
This is called Bicycle Triumphs Traffic at the Denver museum of nature and science
This is my absolute favorite museum in the USA. I visited in the late 1990s and it was stark and fascinating to see how immigrants lived. I visited again in 2023 to see the wonderful new interpretive exhibits. As an immigrant myself, it's a place that I really want my kids to experience.
Vacation rental bike on Lachine Canal in Montreal, Canada. Lovely post-industrial trail in a lovely city.
I took half a dozen Palisade peaches to a friends house today after scarfing three myself. Giving them away is protection from over-peaching. Sooooo tasty π

Handwritten notes of affirmation in a dish
#positivity my local coffee shop has a dish into which people or little handwritten notes. They're all positive reminders. A nice little boost first thing in the morning.
Bicycle parked next to a stream
A slight wrong turn between Golden, Colorado, and Denver led to a very chilly bare foot walk through a stream. And of course it was exactly the kind of fun I was looking for π€©
