Cambridgeshire County Council has to spend more each year on statutory duties & services like social care, education, SEND and Home to School Transport. This equalled 75% of the 25/26 council budget. That means all other areas including roads, waste & libraries have to be funded from the remainder.

Having to post this message was not something Cambridgeshire County Council should have had to do. However, when our staff are contractors are threatened, intimidated and, in some cases physically attacked, we have no choice.

This is not acceptable. Not now, not ever.

Deeply saddened to read this. An inspiration to a young biologist in school and university and someone whom I continued to admire as an adult. So very pleased to have heard Jane speak in person and to have met her at the Edinburgh International Science Festival #RIP

Having been involved in these discussions with the PSA years ago, it’s good to see some progress. However, professional regulation requirements require standards which are applicable to all. That’s a challenge when there are multiple professional bodies involved.
