It not being perceived by these people as condescending, which by definition it kind of is, would be an awfully tough needle to thread at best.

She’s on a very short list of reporters who they put out that statement for too, especially as it turns out she was unable to provide any supporting documentation for her claim.
The upside is that adequate regulation would be a two birds situation. IMO opinion the biggest negative impact Facebook had on the media environment was them just doing straight up fraud.

Ok. Thank you for your insight.
What’s your preferred metric then?
If the thesis is that these attitudes and perceptions are a response to very recent conditions, wouldn’t it hold that the preceding 5 year period would have produced the opposite?
Certainly not suggesting that the short-term economic outlook is good…
That’s literally what the measure seeks to quantify though. You can certainly critique the methodology, but it doesn’t sound like that’s what you’re doing.
It’s been the opposite.
These comments showing up under any sort of hopeful (or worse about something good that happened to you) post is a significant contributor to “why do the economic vibes feel so bad”.
A divide I’ve noticed IRL esp with fellow millenials and I’m sure translates here is between ppl of said class who bought a house prior to 2022 and those who didn’t.
Wouldn’t be shocking if one of the guys golfing right now won the whole thing!
Acknowledging that your financial situation isn’t getting worse (let alone better) is received poorly on here to say the least.
No!
Exactly, but I also have no idea what me letting/not letting Vrabel off the hook for his infidelity could possibly mean in practice.
Was referring to the OP which was about how there’s no Iran campus protests in contrast with the ones re:Palestine.
What are you referring to?
This is what I meant, there’s whole swaths of ppl out there. Being a bit savvy doesn’t hurt, but I don’t even know if that’s it. In many cases it feels like it’s if you watched Toy Story and thought the characters were real ppl.
Something I do find interesting is that there’s ostensibly no cognizance that this stuff looks obviously fake to people.
One of the reasons you’re not seeing more *Iran protests is that the war’s historically unpopular and Israel being historically unpopular plays a huge role in that.
*We had the largest protest ever two weeks ago and this was front and center.
In the macro though we’re talking about a protest movement that’s been incredibly successful (or at least played a part) in shaping public opinion on both sides of the aisle.
The campus protests were largely over in July of ‘24. We just had the largest protest ever two weeks ago, and was littered with signs expressing solidarity with Palestine etc.
The protests largely had a list of tangible demands from their respective universities. Not clear what the corollary to BDS would be in these circumstances.

My report from the ground (local zoo) is that they’re moving a ton of these.
Speaking of shitty his biggest claim to fame for many years was that he doesn’t wash his hands or believe in germs. Legitimately not Fuddruckers material.

Tesla has a direct sales model, so there’s a gap between orders and deliveries. Not to suggest that the numbers have never been juiced.

Making it legal to buy a car directly from the manufacturer would really improve so many different things in this country.
