An old word search puzzle with a zodiacal banner at the top
Fun for all! It's the Astro-Word puzzle from Horoscope magazine, Nov. 1975! Theme: authors and their birth signs.
It's very good
Cover art for WITCHES USA has the statue of liberty holding up a broomstick and a moggy, with a giant pentagram star on the moon!
It's gossips and guignol as author Susan Roberts mixes with the mid-century witchy set, proving that no matter how mystic you hold yourself, someone's always gonna piss in the casserole ...
Witch out with this newly scanned WITCHES USA (1971) by me!

Noah you probably should lock replies on here like you do on twitter, or else people will keep posting about how you're a pedophile!

Cute photo spread cover with a bunch of different vintage pills spilled out of a bottle under the title.
Really basic table of contents!
4: A full upload and capsule (heh) review of Warren Smith and Brad Steiger's 1965 drug scare title THE MENACE OF PEP PILLS! This one's so early that Steiger is writing under his birth name of Eugene Olson!

Cool painted cover in the UK style, of a panspermic germ cloud flowing through space to the Earth!

Classic Chariots style cover with big bold text and not much else!
Nice table of contents with different experts tackling various von Daniken rubbish!
2: A full upload and capsule review of the anti-von Daniken SOME TRUST IN CHARIOTS from 1972 - note how Lancer books presents this as just another Chariots knockoff, and not the critical, academic volume it really is!

Dan Vadis as Hercules, looking good with some scruff
Nooooo reason at all ... ๐ (Dan Vadis was always my favorite strongman)
Nice pic! ๐
I have to contradict this. Williamson was already receiving contactee messages and was involved in the Adamski "Orthon" first contact *before* going to meet Pelley. His first visit to see Pelley was announced in the November 28, 1953 issue of Valor. He was totally a fascist antisemite, though.
Haha, thanks for the correction! :P
Cohen's COLISEUM earns 2/4 for okay thrills. If Basil Jackon's work was hearty vacation fare, then Coliseum is the soggy egg salad sandwich you choke down at the train station ...
Dell packed the back pages with ads for their mainstream best sellers:
Striking for American readers 50 years later, the staff discover spent shells, bullet holes in seats, and cryptic notes ... and then wonder if maybe they should do something! Like, yeah you should!!! The sniper is a pretty good character though.
There's too many cardboard characters on staff at the Coliseum, though the Swami, rocker Skanky Baggs (not Shanky as the inside cover typos) and crooked hot dog vendor Fuzzi are all interesting.
Cohen does better than he did with his crocodile schlock NIGHT OF THE TOY DRAGONS, but barely!
Cover art for 1975 novel COLISEUM by Barney Cohen, showing the sniper taking aim out a window box at the football game down below!
First post of DISASTERTHON is up! It's Barney Cohen's sniper thriller COLISEUM! paperbackgods.blogspot.com/2024/11/coli...
