😢 and the funicular wasn't working when I left work around 4:50pm. What a frustrating day.

#yegbike why is the funicular elevator not working this morning? And why does the status website have "no notifications to show" about it? UGH

Hey #yegbike - any info on the McNally/Forest Heights hill conditions? Itching to start my bike commute again.

God I hope so

Oh also, the bus that heads from my neighbourhood to my local pool comes every hour, so you're also hooped there as well.

If I want to take transit my local arena two neighbourhoods away(9 min drive) it would take me upwards of 45 minutes to do that. Sometimes more than an hour on weekends. It shouldn't be this hard!

Attaching fox fur (bought in Nunavut) to my husband's parka. My cat is obsessed with the fur.

I feel like the discourse around this municipal election was driven by the squeaky wheels. It feels futile to speak up against it when those speaking are so hostile and loud.

@pathsforpeople.bsky.social where can we report/advocate for better infrastructure? Almost got flattened by someone not paying attention to flashing crosswalk lights on 106 Ave in Forest Heights. I truly believe it's a matter of time before someone is killed on this road.

It cracks me up that cyclists get the entitled rap. Nothing more entitled than expecting access to taxpayer-funded storage for your personal property.

This is the Canadian Premier League soccer finals and we have a bicycle kick goal in the middle of a blizzard … and that’s the most Canadian thing I’ve ever seen 😂

Losing measles elimination status is an embarrassment.

After yesterday's snow, roads are melted and clear today. A little bit of partially melted snow and ice on the Ottewell shared pathway but not too bad! Really nice weather for it today. #yegbike

My husband and I are really excited for this one. Can't wait to see it implemented! Living north of 98ave we really feel the lack of infrastructure.

This lane was part of the reason we chose to buy in the area nearly two years ago. It's not a secret and never has been.

Damn, I should have voted for him. That cod fishery would really help my family.

Website says closed until October 31?!

I'm really excited for next year's expansion - so many of the lanes they're going to build will solve this problem. 79 street is a pathetic excuse of a shared street at the moment.

If the road is over 40km/hr and there's no decent alternative, I'm on the sidewalk. I'll caveat this with I find the most immediate solution to not be on the sidewalk - even if it requires a slightly longer route - as I don't really feel like it's much safer. Too much risk for right hooking.

Of course the anti-bike lane PACE candidate in my ward was there.

We fact-checked residential school denialists and debunked their ‘mass grave hoax’ theory Contrary to what some ‘denialists’ believe, research shows that Canadian media outlets did not help circulate a ‘mass grave hoax’ regarding unmarked graves at former Indian Residential Schools.

Because people think it's super cool to post what they think is a "gotcha" about the likely Kamloops burial sites:

I swear to God, if the city starts removing lanes BC of the province, I'm taking the lane on every single ride.
