I find it interesting that the 10 Commandments are being thrown up all over the place on public buildings, yet no one thinks about putting any of the beatitudes up. It’s almost as if people are scared to turn power over on its head.

A government that mandates a daily swearing of loyalty (aka the pledge of allegiance by children) may have cracks that the glue of indoctrination may not be able to fill.

As an Xer, I can say that it’s interesting. But I would surmise that most people like it because it helps us find a sense of belonging. It’s like a horoscope with some rational thinking.

The positive of this Trump presidency is that I find myself focused on the positive I can do locally and less about the train wreck that will occur in Washington.
