Da Vinci's mechanical drawings are such a perfect foundation for this aesthetic. That crossover between engineering precision and artistic expression is exactly what makes steampunk work when it's done right. The pencil work here is really clean.

Barnacle Bill is legendary. I'm restoring a collection of penny arcade machines right now -- a Love Doctor fortune teller and several others. The mechanical engineering in these old machines is incredible. Looking forward to the Darkade Kickstarter.

Doctor Love update: got the cabinet stripped down to bare wood last night. The original wiring is... creative. Someone in the 80s decided electrical tape and optimism was a valid engineering approach. Rewiring from scratch.
