McDonald's as part of the Make America Healthy Again campaign, perhaps? 🤷♂️
Wonderful meeting St. John's University alumnus and BPGbio.com President & CEO Dr. Niven R. Narain yesterday, and talk about science and novel therapeutics for mitochondrial disease. He also gave a fantastic presentation for our undergraduate students.
As cooking wine, I used a Koha Sauvignon Blanc by Marlborough, New Zealand.
To make the sauce nice and creamy, it is important to use the right amount of flour. Just like in the original recipe, I toasted the flour before using it. Toasting adds a bit of flavor.
Leeks.
Shiitake mushrooms.
Bell peppers.
Chicken with leeks, shiitake mushrooms, bell peppers, thyme, in a white wine creamy sauce.

So, a program to phase out scientists...?
I just listened to the megafelinology episode of Ologies @ologies.bsky.social and wow! That was amazing! And you sounded amazing, Dr. Cancellare. I even learned that there's a human population that is genetically adapted to the hypoxia of high altitude.
Glad to hear you are doing ok now.
Thank you, Mike! I was happy with the result.
For wine I used a Spanish rose'. As a side dish, I roasted some potatoes and Brussels sprouts.
Spaghetti with roasted halibut and striped bass, squid, cherry tomatoes, yellow foot mushrooms and spinach.

Similarly, being a scientists does not necessarily make you a great provost. Seeing that first-hand at my institution.
Thank you, @yuhline.bsky.social for speaking up and standing up. Your voice matters.

Speaking of kings and oligarchs, would you like to comment about what is happening at St. John's University, Yuh-Line, where the president and provost declared last week that they are no longer recognizing the unions?

I started watching AFTER listening to the podcast (spoilers be damned!). I'm at episode 3 so far, and meh. And sorry, but the actor who plays Kip is terrible.
The issue is: What are the consequences for following illegal orders? Because right now the impression is that whether an order is legal or not doesn't matter, as there are no consequences.
The fact that he somehow felt offended by her reaction, and said all those horrible things to her, does not bode well for the future. He should be able to understand why she reacted that way, and that her fears are fully justified. Instead, he made it all about him and his ego.
I don't work with neural organoids, but I just listened to the "Brain Balls" episode of Radiolab (radiolab.org/podcast/brai...). I loved to hear your story on how you stumbled upon brain organoids.

We describe a cost-effective, accessible RT-PCR + densitometry approach to simultaneously identify and quantify multiple interleukin splice variants in a single reaction—an alternative to variant-specific qPCR.
🚨 New paper alert! 🚨
