The one I bought is a used mole Richardson Tweenie II Solarspot. It wasn't terribly expensive on eBay

Oh I have a small one, it's not too big, but man does it get HOT fast! I think it's pretty power hungry, the bulb is like 500 watts, but I try not to keep it on for too long, so I don't think it would cost too much

I've also read that old theater lights would probably be a good way of lighting watercolor pieces, at least according to James Gurney, although they're rather expensive lol

Oh I'm glad that's not just a me issue! Haha yeah the only time I can get really good photos is in sunlight outside, or in a sunny window. I'm just using my phone's camera right now, which is good, but I want more control, so I might start using an old camera I have lying around. Thanks for the tips

Ohh this is lovely! If you don't mind sharing, what is your camera setup? That's the biggest issue I have with sharing my watercolors is trying to get the picture of the piece to capture close to how it looks in real life

A Little Owl is bundled in a baby blue towel on a table with an expression of malcontent. His eyes are squinted and slightly crossed, and match his waxy yellow beak in colour. He appears chinless, recessing his head into his body; eyes at the same level as his shoulders and squashed as though someone had tried resizing him in a Word document and forgot to lock the aspect ratio.

Final color options renders of my concept from the Castillian mythological creature the ORICUERNO, with deer hooves, a horns, wings on the legst and a lion tail. With incredible unusual characteristics, the oricuerno could transform water into a cure all poisons elixir and could also turn women into men.
