Though it’s got some good stuff in it, the bit of The Multiversity that maps (most of) the 52 universes and makes sure nearly every one has a Justice League analogue feels unintentionally stifling.

For that long a series, and even much shorter ones, you can safely assume the production was fairly strongly linear — as tends to show on series that hit serious hitches.
For when you just can’t put up with The Boys’ pro-superhero bias any more.
….that it’s two hours of water imagery?
That is…. not a flattering pose for The Stranger.
“Okay, my prose fiction consists mostly of unfinished short stories, I’ve got a great idea for disguising my style….”
Using the idea (already established) that there was an antimatter universe along with the regular one, but no other parallel universes.
(So kind of like the ‘No Homers’ club from The Simpsons.)
“I just figured ‘there’s got to be more than one person called Peter Mandelson’ and the rest fell into place.”
“You silly twisted boy.”
I read some of the 70s horror comics that use him, and there it’s “tries to resist his urge to feed but often fails, fatally.” Which is a tricky sell for sympathy even when he’s not around more conventional heroes.
Sting’s needed for the scenes with the Scorpion.
You make them rhyme by pronouncing ‘forehead’ in a quick, indistinct way.
A Brecht fan who couldn’t recognise a distancing effect right in front of him.
First few issues were published as DARK CRISIS, then it changed to the full title because obviously that would increase enthusiasm.
“Well, okay, he’s only let one of his arms go.”
The lots of 30 seem to include several different 80s and 90s shows in one set (I can only place a couple).
Later material is generally unlikely, I know a show from 2000 where a character explains that most cels are digital nowadays by pointing to herself in pixelated zoom.
The problem with Batman being popular enough to appear in a bunch of books at once. Also maybe relevant, Morrison’s Batman was only about 2/3rds done when the reset happened, and basically continued alongside in Batman Incorporated as if nothing had happened.
Bradbury did write ‘The Pedestrian’, which is also a “why are you walking?” story from about the same time
One problem with its later reputation, I think, is that (without too much of a spoiler) it’s so front-loaded with ‘can’t believe they’d do that’ episodes that it’s been hard to take it that much further.
(Carol aims her next punch somewhat lower.)
There’s a contrast to how 80s superhero realism often leant towards a lower-key approach (if it wasn’t outright tearing things down).
Trying to out-Millar Millar when you shouldn’t even Millar Millar.
Robert Reed’s short story ‘Killing the Morrow’ was a take on that, where the sort of people willing to do it anyway would be the ones you would least want to.
“No, and there’s an issue with loading the posts too.”
And reruns for years making it seem longer, too.
In similar territory, have you watched Journal With Witch? I’m two episodes in on strong recommendations and it’s very solid so far.
It’s what dril’s candle budget was for.
What if they’re not into Cormac McCarthy adaptations?
Also the bit that raises several awkward ‘so which is the real Imperial Sword’ questions.
