Posting in Wisconsinese, where this happened over a decade ago:
Ope.
Mayor Mamdani and President Obama read a picture book to a group of children.
Mayor Mamdani and President Obama chat and laugh with a group of children.

Children hug Mayor Mamdani.
Today, President Barack Obama and I read to a group of toddlers at Learning Through Play Pre-K Center in the South Bronx.
In between singing wheels on the bus, we discussed our administration’s vision for this City — one where New York’s Cutest have the strongest start possible.
Former President Barack Obama met with New York Mayor Zohran Mamdani for the first time Saturday, joining preschoolers at a child care center for a book reading and singalong.

When it comes to spreading disinformation, dark money buys a lot of repetition, because repetition works.
Repetition works.
Repetition works.
Repetition works.
(Did we mention that repetition works?)

I’m all in.
Unlike the Secretary of Agriculture, Sen. Ossoff understands the economics of farming.
She’s actually not someone you can court, apart from putting in a basic introduction to your organization. She finds you.
Yes. This is the way.
ålahue = eel hat
An excellent insult.
(betting @greenleejw.bsky.social already knew this)
The New York Times is now blocking The Wayback Machine from accessing its articles.
That means you'll no longer be able to view archived versions of NYT stories published in 2026 and beyond on archive.org.
(All those posts you see tracking changes to NYT headlines and ledes? They relied on WBM).
Without question. I gave it to my grandson just a few weeks ago. Even at 8 months, it has captivated him.
That gave him a laugh.
Taking my wins wherever and whenever I can get them. Thank you for your firm’s terrific work.
Quoth my spouse, a diehard Giants fan stuck in Wisconsin, “I can’t do this.”
I’m gonna be the cranky contrarian here and loudly say “nope”:
1) we don’t lack for places to install solar,
2) above-ground parking is a blight on our cities,
3) it should be redeveloped into better uses, and
4) putting solar panels above parking lots is an obstacle to developing them.
Earlier this year, Lab broke the story that The New York Times, The Guardian, and USA Today Co. had begun limiting the Wayback Machine’s access to their news articles.
Now, journalists are pushing for news publishers to lift the restrictions. www.niemanlab.org/2026/04/jour...
Whoa. Just did exactly this!
Excellent.
It’s infuriating when a woman comes forward about a man raping her in his hotel room after drinking and the response is “Why would she go to his room?” “Why would she drink with him?” This is Mike Pence logic. Women should be allowed to hang out with men without expecting they will be raped.
Happy 414 Day! Today, we celebrate Milwaukee and everything that makes this city so great — the people, the food, the culture, the workers who are organizing and winning, the neighborhoods that define what community looks like.
Milwaukee Public Schools is facing a $50 million shortfall — and instead of reviewing administrative and legacy contracts, MPS is cutting hundreds of support staff and denying workers their full cost-of-living adjustment.
Superlative news!
First New College, then Hampshire College. We're coming to the end of the attempt to make higher education something other than hackwork, slavish devotion to job training for working and middle class, pre-wealth studies for the "elite." How fucking dull are these times of ours.
Can we all agree that the Holy Father doesn’t need advice on how to be Catholic from the Vice President and get back to the Epstein Files?
Tweet by @nydsa that reads “ "I have thought often of the Margaret Thatcher's quote, 'The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people's money. If anything, my friends, it seems that you eventually need a socialist to clean up the mess. " - Mayor Zohran Kwame Mamdani 100 days down — what’s next? Sewer socialism
first time in more than 60 years a major city mayor has embraced Milwaukee’s very own good government philosophy of “sewer socialism”
proud to see Milwaukee’s history continuing to make waves today across the country
