There’s something refreshing about a company not trying to squeeze every last nickel out of subscribers that I just appreciate. Props @dropout.tv (I clicked keep me subscribed btw).

Beyond Votto beyond awesome (he is, and not just for this), I hope this makes the Verdin Clock Co a bunch of money from the publicity.

I don’t know how much a fancy post clock costs, nor do I have any need for one. But I want one.

Project Hail Mary was excellent. But the line “Rocky hate Marc” … I felt that.

Crossword is another conversation entirely given its use of oddly clued compound words. But hey, at least it’s clever.

Wordle’s inconsistent approach to a shortened version of the word counting as a word allowed me to solve it today. Still, I’d like to speak to the manager.

The NYT medium length crossword puzzle theme is “Green Day” and I was all excited to use my mainstream punk rock trivia knowledge and it ended up being about Ireland 😞. I should’ve known given the day ☘️.

I’m stupid excited to see Project Hail Mary on Friday with the fam. It’s perhaps the first time my daughter and I have shared a love of a book and now we get to see what Hollywood does with it. Also, for once I got tix early so we’ll have great seats.

Trying to email my Congressman this morning to say thanks for his vote on last week’s war powers resolution as he was one of the very few Republicans to deviate from the party line. Credit where it’s due and all that. I guess that’s not happening…

I'm pretty sure I could chop down a medium sized tree with the piece I got from Randall and then shave right after. Worth your consideration if you're in the market.

I just finished @mattdinniman.bsky.social’s Operation Bounce House. Between this one and his Carl series, it’s clear this dude is a master of entertaining and hilarious page-turners. But it’s the interweaving of morality and social commentary that make them greats. Thanks Matt.

@mattdinniman.bsky.social certainly has a way with words, especially when those words involve the expulsion of power tools from the sexualized neck hole of a decapitated companion doll possessed by a minor deity. God I love Dungeon Crawler Carl.

I've used LLMs for coding help previously but this weekend was the first time I think I met the criteria for 'vibe coding' with a code-assist agent right in the IDE making (approved) changes based on my requirements in chat. Gotta say, even with the free tier of my LLM of choice, I'm impressed.

Goddamnit Matt Dinniman just released the end of Book 8 on his patreon. I've avoided reading anything to this point as I'd rather hold it in my hand. But now that it's done, the temptation is stronger.

I would absolutely pay my way to LA to be on this show; problem is, I'm not interesting enough.

Maybe a bit too much wishful thinking but I bought game 4 NLDS tickets in case it’s played in Cincinnati.

Let’s go Reds!

Winning percentage being the same as the local area code means we’re definitely staying ahead in the wildcard race, right?
