For those not following the drama earlier, it's for sharing this piece advocating for nonviolence (but not being judgy about how targeted people respond either). And saying some things about governmental/ institutional violence.
Chart of cumulative protests reported from Jan 22 - Feb 28, 2017 vs 2025:
In February 2025 alone, we tallied 2085+ protests, incl major protests in support of federal workers, LGBTQ rights, immigrant rights, Palestinian self-determination, Ukraine, demonstrations against Tesla, & protests against Trump’s agenda more generally. This compares w/ 937 protests in Feb 2017.
Huge protests today in Belgrade and Budapest.
In Belgrade half a million people joined protests against corrupt, pro-Kremlin Aleksandar Vučić.
In Budapest, hundreds of thousands marched against corrupt, pro-Kremlin Viktor Orban.
Many millions across Europe stand against autocracy and corruption!

There are no words in the English language sufficient to describe how heartburstingly angry I am at the 8 traitors who just sold us all down the river.
It is our job as Americans to make sure they can NEVER appear in public life EVER again.
Die wretched and alone, unloved by your country.

Don’t let them forget it. No peace for them.
The Trump regime will arrest you in the middle of the night because you spoke your mind.
And federal agents in plain clothes who refuse to identify themselves will be the ones to do it.
If you think I'm being hyperbolic, watch this clip.
“Jewish leaders need to ask themselves if they’re willing to allow our community to be used in this way to dismantle democratic norms,” said Rabbi Jill Jacobs, CEO of T’ruah: The Rabbinic Call for Human Rights. “If the answer is no, their condemnation of this arrest should be loud and swift.”

“Private interest sees itself as the ultimate purpose of the world. Thus if the law does not realize this ultimate purpose, it becomes inexpedient law. Law that is harmful to private interests is therefore law with harmful results.”

Yes! Kevin introduced me to Marxist-Humanism back in the 1980s. Kevin and I hosted Raya Dunayevskaya’s last public lecture at North Illinois University in 1987. Tell him I said hello.
We meet this Saturday on Zoom. I will message you.
Really? Who was the professor who recommended Marxism and Freedom to you?
I am in a Marxist-Humanist study group.
I met Raya Dunayevskaya in 1987 a month before she died. I am currently a member of a Marxist-Humanist study group that meets on Zoom.
Have you read any of Dunayevskaya’s books after she split from James?
Have you read any of Dunayevskaya’s books after she split from James? These go much further than anything she wrote in the 40s in explaining the post-WWII world. Just before her death in 1987 she developed the concept of the “changed world.” That’s world we are in now.
They were unwilling to do anything defend their Constitutional powers then, so of course they are unwilling to do anything to protect their Constitutional power now. Trump knew this when he took office. By attempting to legitimize Trump, the Congress have only succeeded delegitimized themselves.
If they had impeached him then, he would not have even been able to run for reelection in 2024.
The crisis we are in now is the same crisis we were in then. After Trump had a violent mob attack Congress, and after Trump was no longer even in power and could not have done anything against them in 2021, the Congress refused to hold him accountable for this flagrant violation of the Constitution.
