Fine-tuning foundational models and learning based approaches is undoubtedly the future of robotics. But there is no source to find all the latest research at one place.
I've made a twitter list of folks who are working at the forefront of robot learning research and share what's new the field.
Something Paul Graham said has stuck with me forever:
"One sign that determination matters more than talent: there are lots of talented people who never achieve anything, but not that many determined people who don't."
When I was self-learning autonomous robotics 6yrs ago, I was astonished by probabilistic approach towards things that I picked up Fooled By Randomness to read in parallel, and believe that had a great effect in my interest and understanding of the topic.
Going from hardware to software projects feels like keeping down the weights and picking up the phone! Nothing about you changed but you can now move much faster.
Something I wish I knew when starting a startup:
The people you're starting the company with matters a lot more than your idea. Choose them wisely!
