Today during Celebration at Glide Memorial Church, our community baptized Somara. It was an especially meaningful moment because she also celebrated her first birthday with us. Seeing the community gather around her for both was something beautiful to witness. Happy 1st birthday, Somara.

Yesterday we opened The Shop at GLIDE, 330 Ellis Street in the Tenderloin. More than a barbershop, it’s a place for conversation, community, and health support. Thanks to Daniel Tsai, Supervisor Bilal Mahmood, and Danny Glover for celebrating with us. #GlideUnconditionally

As we celebrate Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., we think back to 1987, when Coretta Scott King, Janice Mirikitani, and Reverend Cecil Williams showed up with unconditional love, radical inclusivity, and truth. That spirit lives on at GLIDE today. #GlideLegacy

Today is Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s birthday.

In 1985, Coretta Scott King asked Reverend Cecil Williams to help carry an annual MLK march. More than 40 years later, GLIDE continues it. This Monday at 9am, we walk from 4th and King Caltrain to Yerba Buena Gardens together. #CarryTheLegacy
