It's 17 days since my lumpectomy and I'm now going to attempt the vacuuming, with my other arm. I'm hoping I don't do myself a mischief but I need to feel useful and not just an ornament.

Recovery after breast surgery is weird. I'll be doing nothing and some weird stabbing itch will start. I guess that's a good sign that things are healing.
Swelling is going down and I can clench my hands fully now without the skin on my knuckles stretching.

I'll give her the number for emergency housing as well as she's not coming here!

She's also messaged about ICE being nearby and can I pick her up from the airport if she gets deported and can I take her and the kids in as well. I haven't actually given her an answer to that yet. But it's a no from me.

She replied with this. The rest of her messages have been all about how she couldn't go with him because of the kids and all that blah, blah, blah.

This was the first message, I replied saying I was okay and that I hadn't looked yet to see what they had done during the surgery.

I shall look forward to the messages later. Maybe she will actually enquire as to how I'm doing. Or maybe not. We shall see.

But what pisses me off is that she has messaged me 10 times since the 11th and it's all been about her husband and his blood in his poo.
I had surgery on the 10th and her message that day was - how are things with you did you have your surgery yet or no?.

My sister messaged on the 11th Feb to say that her husband is having a colostomy (I think she actually means a colonoscopy) on the 19th to find out if he has cancer or haemorrhoids. I mean, if he gets a cancer diagnosis that quick I would be impressed.

In April last year I found a lump in my breast. I had a mammogram in May and in June I was told it was cancer. My treatment started in July.
I have had 6 months of chemo, surgery was last week and I'm being booked in for radiotherapy.
In all that time my sister has messaged 4 times to see how I am.

Although I have surprised myself with my ability to go without pain relief. The hospital gave me codeine for after the surgery. I haven't even popped a paracetamol or ibuprofen. I'm tougher than I thought!

I had a lumpectomy on Tuesday and I've been struggling with a sore throat and not being able to quench my thirst ever since.
I can cope with the pain in my chest and arm, I was expecting that. But the sore throat from the breathing tube was a bit of a surprise inclusion.

It's January 27th and I can't take anymore of Mr S being at home with me. Retiring at Christmas was a bad idea. He has a garage to work in but it's apparently too cold for him. So he's just in the house annoying me. He won't help clean. He's making Lego.

I had some money left over this month and I've just ordered some new trainers. I now feel guilt for spending so much money on me. My parents always made me feel bad for buying things for my myself. I'm a 54 year old grown woman and they've been dead for years. But the guilt is still there.

He just stormed his way around the house because - why's the fucking heating come on? Jesus Christ it's hot in here - he's wearing a thick jumper.

Besides, our building work was 14 years ago and it's taken him that long to decide to do. And then, he says, he will paint the hall. But not the stairs and landing as he's not ready to do that.

It wouldn't be so bad but he's walking from the hall to the garage and back. He's making a box to cover the electricity meter. His lack of forward thinking to bring all the tools in, means he goes to the garage every time he needs something. It's a huge waste of time and energy, but that's him.

Mr S always slams the back door. He says he doesn't but he absolutely does. It shakes the whole house.
I'm now seriously considering getting someone in to add a slow close to the door. It's pissing me off today.
