I just got the email codes like 3 hours too late. Feels almost like if the app ever logs me out now then that's it for the account; the üower of GIFs must have been too strong and fear inducing.

Lmao I have email 2 factor enabled for security reasons, but bluesky seems to have trouble sending the codes. So now I can onky use it on my phone where I am still logged in.

I also can't reset the 2FA because that requires an email code...

Video interview with 3 people. Two women are to the side, each in a smaller rectangle and somewhat neutral backgrounds. The big rectangle to the left is filled by one of the Beastgame season 2 participants, Cory.
Cory's background displays some memorabilia to his time in the USA Army; behind him is a bookshelf with books like, the bible, Rich dad poor dad, The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People. Also on the shelf is a sign that says "Jesus is the key to heaven but Faith unlocks the door", and a jar of dirt/sand labeled "Iraq". Cory himself wears a plain shirt and a dog tag looking necklace that has the american flag and a cross.

Also also, does that one guy who eliminated the last woman have a jar with sand from his Iraq tour in his house? Jfc (also the books are definitely a choice).

If the games after that depend on the people having money to bribe each other, you also just lost that part of your design. Most likely the option to "take all of it" was not real, or if anyone tried to take it, they would have talked them out of it, rolled out more cash or something similar.

Also games like the "take as much money as you want" set yourself up for a bad episode. "I am taking all of it" is a nice cliffhanger, but think about what happens if the contestant does. There is tension in the people yes, but the game itself is over immediatly.

The money that gets thrown around is so ridiculous; they simply didn't do the math. It would not suprise me if the amounts for things like bribes are more or less set by Jimmy on the spot, because else I think they would be more related to the odds of winning (maybe even tailored to the contestant)

The main video is great. And the companion video gave me an almost cathartic feeling, picking apart just how bad the "games" are. Just thoughtless exercises where big money numbers are seen as a hook, and the psychological effects that the show wants simply are not there because the setup sucks.

*Playmobile not Duplo, but really same difference.

Maybe it is recency bias on my part, but the style choice here feels inspired by the Iranian propaganda. Especially for toys like this, I feel like making an authentic, actually real picture could have been fun instea dof prompting.

Great, great. By the way, why are y'all using Duplo AI slop? It feels like some recent social media Lego videos gave you an idea for the style.

On an only slightly more serious note it is probably best to view it as a spectrum and use a metric like 'anatomically closeness to a humans body' as basis for classification.

There are two viewpoints here, is it about the shape of the beast, or about its essence. And imo both of them lead to an instance where you can fuck a human and have it be classified as monsterfucking. In this essay I will...

Hey! What's up?

We have been very busy these past couple of months, typing, reading lots of documents and generally getting up to whatever the opposite of shenanigans is.

Which is why more Shenanigans are in order!

April 26th, Sunday, we'll be holding a roundtable with these lovely folks!

Hartzog said lawmakers need to create more specific rules tailored to the unique threat posed by the combination of facial recognition and nearly undetectable surveillance technology before it becomes ubiquitous. Those laws need to target not only people using the technology, but also the companies behind it, he said.

“A lot of these conversations tend to focus on, ‘is it OK to use these glasses or this tool to surveil other people?’” he said. “What often gets lost in this conversation is, ‘is it OK for companies to design these really socially hostile tools in ways that will foreseeably lead to massive violations of privacy?’”

18. The ruthless exposure of the private lives of public figures drives far too much talent away from government service. The public arena—and the shallow and petty assaults against those who dare to do something other than enrich themselves—has become so unforgiving that the republic is left with a significant roster of ineffectual, empty vessels whose ambition one would forgive if there were any genuine belief structure lurking within.

This reads like someone is big mad that DOGE bros got exposed when the Elon tried to insert himself (and I guess general VC/tech innfluence) way deeper into government than before.

the thing about our current moment is that yes, the anti-AI and anti-big tech people are getting very reactive nowadays - but have you seen what they’re *reacting* to?

Did some minor efficiency inprovements for my gif editor and had to grapple with the fact that some of my design decisions simply lead to inefficient code.

Main bottleneck at the moment is de-/compression in terms of how often I use it and how it works under the hood.
