After an amazing week with Christian McBride on the “McBride’s World at Sea” jazz cruise, the Christian McBride Big Band won our 4th GRAMMY today! Oh, and Ashley & I bought a house last Tuesday too! We’re in Westchester county, NY now. Crazy week!!!

I've got that one myself! Love the other records with Woody and this rhythm section like Homecoming and The Real Thing too!

A couple of fun gigs coming up: I’ll be conducting the Princeton University Creative Large Ensemble in our special collborative concert with the Glee Club at Richardson Auditorium on Saturday, and playing the VandoJam with an all-star sax section at the Zinc Bar on Monday. Hope to see you there!

I’m fortunate to have seen Sonny live many times and even got to hang out with him backstage once. There are some great selections on this list! The 1959 Live in Stockholm recording that Josh mentions is one of my all-time faves, where Sonny’s playing is absolutely incredible!

Yeah, just this week I was doing a transcription and needed a 4 : 4 1/2 tuplet. I gave up and just did it with text. A tuplet text override or the ability to set any number of a duration in the span of any number of another duration (like Finale) would definitely be useful!
