I don't use reddit because it's a very cliquey site that demands constant attention in a niche subforum filled with people who hate what you thought this place was about for the slim hope that people I don't know will upvote something I make which gives me... Nothing?
Minor updates to Rule 7 regarding self-promotion The r/rpg mods have made a few minor changes to Rule 7 to tighten up some loopholes and clarify some questions that we get asked regularly in modmail. These changes should result in absolutely zero impact to our regular users. The changes simply document common things that we are seeing in the queues and modmail and will allow us to moderate more effectively without having to explain the same things over and over in modmail. We have not changed the definition of an active user, or what is needed to post promotion. There are some minor grammar changes for clarity, and a few sentences were rearranged. The following are the non-trivial changes that were made: OLD: Affiliate links must be clearly disclosed or they will be removed NEW: Affiliate links and other profit-sharing schemes are not allowed. ADDED TO THE "WHAT IS SELF PROMOTION" LIST: Discussing "a game you are working on", with obvious intent to fish for questions or requests for details and links. Asking for features to include or feedback on a game, site, app, or tool that you are building And the most substantial change: OLD: "If you are using a newly created account and start immediately posting to other peoples' work, then you may be seen as a self-promoter in disguise." NEW: "If you are using a newly created or inactive account and start immediately posting promotion of other peoples' work, then you will be considered a self-promoter in disguise." This change is being made because we regularly get into modmail discussions with brand new or inactive accounts that promote a product to multiple subs, but claim "I'm not affiliated" when there is clearly promotion being made. We see enough obvious "stealth promo" that we are now assuming that promo from non-active accounts is self-promo. This doesn't change how we've been moderating these posts (we've been using this assumption for a while now), merely documenting the change. Thank you. The r/rpg mods

I made a coiled sword for my home bonfire and posted it in the dark souls reddit and got comments asking how people could commission one. I replied "sorry, I can't discuss that here, I'm not allowed to self promote" and got a permanent ban for "self promotion by admitting you take coms elsewhere"

The Unknown Worlds / Krafton story is a gift that keeps on giving. Looks like Krafton is out of the Subnautica picture entirely.
I have thoughts about what this extrication deal might be (waive the earnout, dismiss any countersuits, Krafton doesn’t get a dime)… and if so, a good deal for Krafton.
Pretty much, it's honestly part of why the industry's attempt at pushing E:33 as an indie game and also the most impressive indie success out there gets sideeyed by us a fair bit.

Honestly unacceptable that there aren't 20 Karl Urban Dredd movies for me to watch.
tbh it doesn't really exist in games either, corps want you to think that Expedition: 33 is an indie title.
I think the only worthwhile thing in all of The Origin for Char specifically is just, him being like that because he saw Kycilia once as a depressed kid and couldn't think of anything else.
Other than that though they should have gone with the S&F theory on Char's ascent through the ranks.
I mean he still shows up a normal amount of time for a dead character most active in a couple of extremely well milked pockets of UC history with a very well defined career already. Him having any cameo on Gquuuuux at all was also kinda controversial since his VA is a known sex pest.
I'm pretty sure Tomino thought about them boning during Zeta though, since there's really no gap between it and CCA that would have let them do it, and they were completely apart before Zeta, but Tomino states that he wants you to look at how they act in CCA and wonder if they did.
