Tonight’s cheffery: Bang-bang shrimp and a variation of Jet Tila’s stir-fried rice. Yes, it was toothsome.

You do the Hokey Pokey and turn your car around.
That’s what it’s all about.
Spent the weekend engrossed in Charles Todd's A Day of Judgment. Rutledge returns like an old friend with fresh stories to tell. As Hamish would say, "'Ware if you're wanting tae sleep." My new favorite Rutledge mystery will keep you up.

Yesterday I posted the 2015 shot of Edie Falco ringing the NYSE opening bell. Thought you'd like to see the POV from up there.
Thank you, Serg!
TBT. April 2015 when Edie Falco rang the NYSE opening bell. I'm geeking out on the far right.

DC departure lunch at the fabled CIA hangout, Martin’s in Georgetown. More to absorb every visit to Washington.

I found an Easter Egg! Not on the lawn but in the new novel by Mark Pryor, who has been a fave of mine for his Paris detective Henri Lefort series. Quelle surprise to find the hero of his new novel mention me and tout The Accidental Joe. Merci beaucoup, mon ami! Generosity is never forgotten.
Endings are beginnings. Six drafts and a cover-to-cover oral reading later, I'm planting the flag and declaring victory.
Because it's there.

Thanks to WJCT and host Hetal Bhatt for this morning's interview segment on First Coast Connect about The Accidental Joe and my symposium speech this evening at the University of North Florida, Jacksonville. Michael Wiley made for a great sidekick! Click below for the video.
Made it to Jacksonville for my University of North Florida teach-n-speech festivities tomorrow. Seen here with Prof—and terrific writer, friend, and host—Mike Wiley. Looking forward to corrupting some young minds!
5:21AM, Jacksonville bound. TSA was an early-bird breeze. Thank you to the dedicated TSA workers.
Added attraction to Tuesday's festivities:
Paella is a labor of love. A lot of moving parts, which makes it best suited for a weekend endeavor. But when those littlenecks open and you dig in, heaven.
Delighted to receive my signed copy of Bill Rapp's latest spy thriller, which I was proud to blurb after a digital sneak peek. Terrific story, tight writing, and his years of CIA experience shine through.
