I'm trying so hard, but if you were able to watch how I spend most of my days, you would probably think I'm not trying at all

created my own productivity system to try and motivate myself, crafted a neat way to track it, but it didn't help
so I created another system, and made myself a really cool deck of cards for it, but it didn't help
I just threw both in the trash, and the wave of disappointment I'm feeling is insane
omg, I've been feeling the exact same way. there's stuff I want to paint, things I want to make, that I'm excited about, but I can't get motivated to do anything
in this moment, it feels impossible, but somehow I know that this year I'm gonna break through this wall of depression and self-doubt, and do what I've wanted to do for almost my entire life:
design and self-publish my own tabletop game
pathway with fragile railing leading to wooden steps bisects lush green grass and delicate pink and white flowering trees with dark, curving limbs. At the top of a small hill (where the steps end) just visible the outline of several rooftops, pillowy clouds and blue sky

A paper mini of a happy centaur druid
Lots of new followers rolling in today.
Hi new friends! I make paper minis, and you can too!
I recently released a free Year of the Horse centaur druid. Enjoy!

core rules would be rules-light, but units could have one or two special abilities that add more depth
attacking could be as simple as:
6+ if target is NOT in line-of-sight
5+ if target is within line-of-sight
4+ if target is within line-of-sight and attacker has height advantage
ideas I'm brainstorming:
-high-tech weapons, so line-of-sight is not required (but units gain a bonus if they have it)
-infinite weapon ranges (except melee), so you only measure distance for movement, to speed up play
-"explosion phase" for tanks/mechs (more likely the more damage tokens it has)
anyway, I've tried about a half-dozen solo miniatures games, and they can be so much fun it's crazy!
in my search for games to try, I found plenty of solo skirmish level games (small battles), but I only found like two or three solo games that could handle large battles, so I might try to make one!
The listing sold for about half the price of real 40k tanks, so he was happy with the deal in the end, but he said he didn't pay attention to the title or the description where I explained that the tanks were scratch-built proxies that I made myself.
I guess they were pretty good, haha
I wanna try and share more of my hobbies with you all btw. I don't usually have the energy, but I think it would be cool. I love crafting and scratch building
one time I scratch-built some 40k tanks so well, the guy who bought my listing in ebay thought they were the real thing, LMAO!! I felt bad!
I've been burning almost all of my free time with doom-scrolling, so I forced myself to start a new project: I'm designing and scratch building my own 6mm miniatures out of craft sticks! It's ludicrous amounts of fun
I'll show you guys soon!
maybe this will be the year I publish my first game!!
I never got to play EPIC 40k, but I still remember my friend showing me the box set decades ago. I knew what space marines were (my family could only afford to buy me one squad, but I cherished those little guys), but I had never seen EPIC before
It looked like the coolest shit I had ever seen!
I got an idea, what do you think:
A solo sci-fi miniatures game with mechs, and the whole rulebook is written as if the book were sent from the future. The purpose? To train humanity in the strategies we will need to defeat the machines of the far future.
It would be miniatures agnostic, 6mm scale
An abstract casein painting that resembles a vertical gap between two rocky and angular forms, with a hazy background of cool gray at the bottom that transitions into a warm golden hue at the top of the painting.
A high contrast semi-abstract / surrealist casein painting, of a narrow canyon/valley, from the point of view of being in the canyon, looking toward the horizon. There are seven bright yellow-orange flowers in the canyon, the landscape is highlighted in the same bold color, and there is a low and small crescent moon also in this color. The flowers are huge, more like bushes than typical flowers, and they have no leaves at all (as is the case with almost every flower in my paintings). The sky is dark gray and rust colored, and the darkest shadows in the painting are a very dark reddish purple.
An abstract casein painting of a golden-orange form resembling a human, but without any details. Essentially a golden silhouette with dark brown outlines/shadows around it, and five flower-like forms that are light-blue with white highlights. The background is mostly gray, with some swirls of tan highlights and textures that resemble weathering.
A vibrant surrealist / semi-abstract casein painting, of a huge form that resembles a blank human face, with a large opening that is roughly skull-shaped, and that allows the viewer to see inside of the huge form. Inside is a red human skull highlighted in bright orange, surrounded by seven pink flower-like forms, and there is a distant opening behind these that suggests a red cavern going into the distance, complete with stalactites and rocky spires that shimmer with highlights of light blue. Outside of the huge face-like form that dominates the composition, are swirling flames, smoke, or energy that are bright orange and light blue. There are also three large blue flowers in the foreground, and in the top-right corner of the painting a very small bright blue crescent moon.

oh, thank you!! My favorite pigments are rose red, ultramarine blue, and dioxazine purple, and I go through more tubes of those colors than any others!
Winter farmland sunset. A grainy landscape featuring a hilltop snow covered field, a silhouetted tree-line and distant valley. The nearly set peachy-orange sun paints the sky.

the two types of vehicle are cars and trucks, with every vehicle being a subclass of one of those two. a jeep is a truck. a motorcycle is obviously a car. a boat is a truck. an airplane is a car and a helicopter is a truck. trucks are cars, interestingly enough, and cars are a specific type of chair

Ending this operation is not enough.
We need justice and accountability. That starts with independent investigations into the murders of Renee Good and Alex Pretti, economic restitution for businesses impacted, abolishing ICE, and the impeachment of Kristi Noem.

An abstract casein painting of a narrow valley, with nine abstract pink flowers that are each the size of a large bush or tree, and the distant parts of the valley are very brightly lit with a golden yellow glow, and the sky is the same bright color. Most of the flowers are in a more shaded part of the valley, with the terrain around them being mostly blue-gray.

An abstract casein painting dominated by bright oranges and reds. There is a large pale orange flower-like form in the bottom center of the painting, and there are five white and pale purple smaller flower-like forms near it. There is a form behind these that is an abstract representation of the top portion of a skull.
