One common mistake I see people making is thinking that a symbol on the map is a path when it isn't!

Yes the Gardoms fake is very realistic.
This one is in Northumberland, I spotted it on the map so went to have a look. It took a bit of heather bashing but worth it.

Yesterday's task had lots of spurs and re-entrants on the contour map.
The ability to identify and visualise them is a crucial skill in map reading.
