Opinion | Who will rebuild Los Angeles? Immigrants. And many of them will be doing it under threat of family separation.

"Immigrants will be the ones bringing Los Angeles back from the ashes. Without them, the city will struggle to recover."

I’m seeing a lot of… interesting things on Bluesky about immigration. If you’ve reported on this long enough, it can start to feel like Groundhog Day—like with each administration, we’re starting over from scratch.

The State of Utah banned the words diversity, equity, and inclusion but not the work of representation, accessibility, and belonging. People need to stop acting like their hands are tied. Get a thesaurus. 🙄

What's driving 500,000+ people to self-deport from the U.S.? YouTube video by The Recount

I make a cameo in this new documentary by TNM & producer Kimberly Avalos, which explores the difficult decision faced by #DACA beneficiaries regarding whether to stay or leave. “But to suggest we should yield even a little to Mr. Trump’s odious politics, to suggest we should compromise on the rights of trans people, for instance, and all of the other critical issues we care most about, is unacceptable. Dems already did this on immigration and got painted as open border communist globalists anyway. This simply does not work. Dems need to have a back bone and actually argue from their differences with conservatives rather than bending over and adopting conservative lite positions because of polls.

It’s mostly white people who talk about echo chambers. Maybe you need the internet to meet people with different ideas but the rest of us do not. We know what the “other side” thinks because we deal with it every day! Everywhere! We’re fine. Carry on. Happy Saturday!
