My bad it's on there
It is! That would have been nice to know ahead of time
@bmorecitydot.bsky.social why is presidents st closed south of lombard (ish) and why wasn't this on the list of weekend road closures?
This anecdote is from about 10 years ago. These days I'm much more in your camp on how to respond
Got a 'you need to calm down' from a guy who nearly ran me over while I was crossing the side street he was trying to turn onto. In the moment I said line "you need to SLOW down" but half a block later I was like "calm down? I was nearly hit by a car!"
Sleepy time bear
It's Friday night baby
Ohio is doing the censorship bait-and-switch.
First, they propose a law criminalizing "adult cabaret" (sexual) performances in public spaces.
Then, redefine "adult" to include a person not dressed as their "biological sex."
HB249 is a legislative weapon targeting public transness.
A related point I like to make: The act of riding a bike is inherently very safe. The danger comes from cars.
The news guild claims that the buyers are planning to not honor the union contract and to cut jobs

If those bosses were so great, they wouldn't get in the way of union organizing, new or legacy. I'm glad they're better than other owners in journalism, but we can and must aim higher.
The Post-Gazette will survive. But it won't thrive in Pittsburgh without robust local coverage and good-faith bargaining with the workers who fought so hard for the past 3 years.

It’s a telling indicator of media desensitization that the US government’s ongoing program of murder on the high seas—which according to the perpetrators has killed fourteen (14) people this week— is no longer a subject for much serious or sustained news coverage.
In order for cyclists to get safe infrastructure they must constantly justify its usage *and* ride their bikes like perfect little angels all the time.
Drivers, on the other hand, never have to justify new roads or follow the most basic laws, despite operating the most dangerous vehicles.
It's about damn time
kinda funny how Republican voters are inarguably happier when a Dem is president. they don’t actually want to be in charge of shit, they want to roll coal and whip themselves into a frenzy over wholly imaginary liberal tyranny. now they’ve caught the car and it fuckin sucks
Love seeing conservatives argue for separation between church and state but only when religious doctrine conflicts with blowing people up
I'm encouraged of course but am tempering that excitement based on what the news guild is saying:

Obviously that era had plenty of problems, but for this aspect specifically I'm a RETVRN guy

zackeryatlas 12h The degradation of society: 1. Celebrating the k!lling of a CEO 2. Cheering on warehouse arsons 3. Making heroes out of people who attempt political violence You can be outraged at the system and still not glorify violence. These aren't wins. This is a society losing its moral compass. [Coming from a liberal btw]
I don’t know how people keep forgetting that workers rights were entirely written in blood and the capital class had to be threatened with violence before they agreed to things like 8 hour working days and 2 day weekends.
JD Vance hasn’t fucked an ottoman like this since undergrad
Once again
please send JD Vance to campaign for every republican senator up for reelection
put him front and center, photo ops, tv spots, the whole nine yards
People will be closely studying how Hungary's opposition pulled off their win in such a pro-incumbent system. Important to note that the theme was corruption. Democrats need to get much better at calling out Trump's corruption.
