The blockade won't break Iran in a few days. But I'll say this. If the West had blockaded Russia in 2022, Putin wouldn't still be killing innocents in Ukraine. This is the only way to deal with thuggish, resource-rich autocracies: cut off their lifeblood...

I'm astounded at how the same people who now easily believe Trump has gone to war on a whim to prove US might have for yrs rejected every piece of evidence that Putin invaded Ukraine to conquer it and prove Ru might. "Ukraine is ours!" Pu pounds his chest; "Pu is cornered and fearful", they insist.

Jeff Bezos is right. There is no need to have correspondents reporting in Europe when you can get all that information from Russia. They'll even pay YOU.

Kherson in russische Gefangenschaft.

I read about those two families from Texas (incl down the road from where I grew up) who moved to Russia. I've been saying for years that Russia is Janus-like in its foreign PR. It acts like a land of white civilization for white Americans/Europeans and like a decolonization beacon for Africans.

My trolls on our atrocities thru this war:
2022: It didn't happen.
2023: Missile fragments did it.
2024: Ukraine staged it.
2025: Ukraine deserves it.

At home, in school and in hospital: how hundreds of Ukrainian children are dying in Russian attacks With nearly 3,000 children injured or killed since the start of the war, experts call for bombing of civilian areas to be treated as a war crime

refer only to NATO, they help Ru push the lie that Ru is afraid of NATO and create the false impression that if Ukraine agreed to neutrality the war would be over, which is 💯 false— Ukr was neutral in 2014 and had no chance of NATO membership in 2022 and Ru still invaded both times.

This is a very incomplete rendering of Ru’s demands and it helps Ru propaganda. Ru demands way more than control over Ukraine’s foreign policy. It demands diktat over Ukr’s domestic laws, regime change, and demilitarization, i.e defenceless Ukr. If it were abt NATO, Trump de facto conceded it.

While Kyiv and the rest of Ukraine burn, the Russian state collects over $6 bn every month in oil taxes. This is what keeps Putin's murderous war machine going. The bulk of Russian seaborne oil exports have to transit the Baltic. When will the EU finally stop cowering and find the courage to act?

Could be, but that's not the case in hand.

Context turns the analyst into a hypocrite. But sure, that was for internal consumption, where mingling with genocidal dictators is less incongruous, sadly.
