In comparison, this one of their older Stadler units (still not the original ones, cause they sold off those to DB, and now ÖBB has them)
One of Westbahn's CRRC-made Panda EMUs arriving at St. Pölten Hbf station on service 917 to Vienna West
Interior near the staircase with a small bar and food vending machine and a generally nice finishing of the walls and so on
Interior on the upper deck
I really wonder about Westbahn's economics, providing an open-access train service that doesn't feel cheap (like Flixtrain) and yet I can travel on it with a VOR Verbund ticket. But I'm not complaining 😁
Unlike Friday, Westbahn's booking system was correct, so I finally made my first trip (I think) on a Chinese-made train, a CRRC Zhuzhou Panda going from St. Pölten to Vienna
Interior felt a bit like someone activated dark mode, but otherwise not worse than Westbahn's Stadler EMUs
Vicemt war einfach der Mann für Amore
I mean there are certainly some trains in the S21 schedule that aren't certain to run yet, you can always not run some late night or weekend trains. Or also stuff like RE77 Stuttgart-Heidelberg via high-speed line
Landtagswahl Angel-Sachsen
are u kidding me

*three new stations: Rheinfelden-Warmbach, Bad Säckingen-Wallbach, Waldshut West
tricking my superiors into me making a map for work 😈
A Stadler GTW EMU on Waldshut's platform 5 as the S36 service to Bad Zurzach
Crossing the Rhine on a very old bridge (can't really be seen)
The same EMU at Koblenz station
A classic SBB Domino EMU arriving Koblenz as the S27 back to Waldshut
Waldshut also has already electric cross-border trains to Koblenz (the Swiss one 🇨🇭).
They cross the Rhine on the river's oldest existing railway bridge from 1859, but it was recently closed for 2½ years (they found asbestos 😬)
Class 641 DMU at the new platform at Weizen Sto that only recently opened
Departure board at Weizen Sto seeing two trains on weekdays to Waldshut: at 6:10 and 14:10/14:27
The DMU at the platform next to the Sto, a colour factory
Just a couple of meters from Weizen station is the Wiizener Steg, a wooden bridge across to Switzerland. This is not a coincidence: the Wutach branch line, which continues to Immendingen via Blumberg, was built as a war-time line avoiding Swiss territory
Also travelled on the RB37. That branch line is slowly reopening, up to Stühlingen it's every 2 hrs since 2024. The bit to Weizen only sees 2tpd on weekdays & Sunday connections to Sauschwänzlebahn steam trains. On my trip, we were 2 pax against 3 staff (driver, conductor, level crossing flag guy)
A rare sight: two regular diesel passenger trains at a railway station in Switzerland, Basel Badischer Bahnhof: on the left a three-car double-decker set hauled by 245 037 as the RE3 to Friedrichshafen Stadt, on the right a class 644 DMU on the RB30 to Lauchringen
Waldshut station already undergoing construction with a new platform emerging from the mud. A class 612 DMU is standing at the old platform on a service to Basel
Derelict platform at Tiengen (Hochrhein). Between Waldshut and Erzingen the line is currently single-track with only one crossing station at Lauchringen (sort of). However, during the electrification works, the old second platform at Tiengen will be reactivated so trains can also cross there, enabling more train services on the line
Strange set up at Waldshut with a double crossing switch and the lone electrified terminating track with a Swiss EMU
Small trip to travel on the Hochrheinbahn a last time before electrification so that I can have a before and after. The project also sees two new stations, full rebuild of all existing ones, and two new crossing loops.
The line will close in two weeks with full reopening planned for late 2027 🚧⚡
🥹 hoffe die neue Regierung macht dann auch eine Politik, die das reflektiert
has a party that didn't exist in the previous election ever gotten a two-thirds majority in a national election (in an election system favoring the incumbent)?
Current estimates of results: 52,8% Tisza, 38,55% Fidesz, 6% Mi Hazánk
Telex news with some key information about the pending election result: "Viktor Orbán admitted defeat and congratulated Péter Magyar on his victory"
are we back?
Okay CTA. This is a good sign.
ooh sehr guter Fund
they really went for "we can equip double as many stops if we only put one display". Another stop had the display on one side, but angled so that you can also see it from the other side
Departure display at a Mainz tram stop positioned in between the tracks
lol never seen a departure display positioned like this
路 (lu) is road, 门 (men) is gate and 山 (shan) is mountain, not sure about the others
Ooh, aber schade dass es nicht ganz die gleiche Schriftart zu sein scheint
Standard German blue station sign with white text, displaying the name "Herzberg am Harz" with a decorative additional sign saying "...die Esperanto-Stadt ... la Esperanto-urbo"
Station sign in red with white text displaying the name "Holzgerlingen Hülben". Also sign for saying it's platform 2 "Richtung Böblingen" and a stop marker for 25 m long trains
Station sign in white (or maybe, as stated in the text, faded yellow) with black text saying "Kirchheimbolanden"
I wonder if there are more colours other than blue, red and white (or maybe it's faded yellow?)
I guess a full rainbow will be too difficult though :D

Screenshot Nextbike app showing electric rental bikes in Aachen
Seems like yes
Seems like the place and the stop don't exist anymore?
Oh haha wann bist du Schönbuchbahn gefahren? Hab ich auch noch gemacht
