Gotta work on them! ⏳

This happened sooner than I expected.

I'll share other learnings on a separate post!
Is there anything y'all are interested to know?

While 𝕏 is a great place to engage with fellow builders, it’s not where my actual users are. Hence I don’t focus much on promoting here.

3/ Engage and Listen to Your Users

Reddit is my main feedback source, and I make it a point to reply to every comment quickly. The insights I get are invaluable and often reveal things I wouldn’t have otherwise known.

This clarity is something I emphasise consistently across all my communication channels.

2/ Be Clear with Your Messaging

I’ll admit, stravify.fun doesn’t solve a major pain point, but as a “fun side project,” it’s pushed me to get really specific with my messaging to attract the right audience.

The core message is simple: Spice up your Strava activities

One aspect I haven’t yet fully explored is diving deeper into which #strava users would enjoy a “fun” tool like stravify.fun. There are more niche subreddits dedicated to #strava users that I plan to check out next.

1/ Know Your Target Users

For stravify.fun, it’s clear that #strava users are my target audience. To reach them, I focused on spaces where they hang out, like the r/Strava subreddit.

200 users on stravify.fun

2 weeks to get my first 100 sign-ups.
4 days to get another 100 sign-ups.

We are officially at 200 sign-ups! 🎉

🧵This may not be a huge number for many of you, but I'm so grateful for it and in the spirit of #buildinpublic , here's what I've learnt in the process

The key ingredient here:
One single post on reddit.

Reddit is super underrated.

Don't miss out on reddit.

Today, I am counting down to 200 users.

Still insane to me. Grateful for the support by the #strava community. Let's go!

Do y'all have any other creative ideas for my custom style/prompt?

stravify.fun custom prompt for AI

stravify.fun custom prompt for AI

I think I've found the perfect AI prompt for the product I'm currently building for #strava users.

I hope other users are having as much fun as I'm having with this haha.

Here's what I'll do:
I’ll personally check out your product, sign up (if it’s free), and share my first impressions. Let’s do this! ✌️

It has been 100% free and I intended for it to be that way.

But now, this has me rethinking.

What would y'all do?

reddit comment on user willing to pay for stravify.fun

This feels like every builder's dream come true.

Just saw this comment on my recent reddit post.

Stravify started as a fun passion project and I never imagined anyone would actually pay for. I didn't bother to even think about it monetisation.

What if the teams are starting to comprise of AI agents?

1 year ago 0 0 0 0

Still crazy to me how I managed to get 100 users within 10+ days since the start of the year.

My number 1 source for sign-ups: Reddit.

Doubling down on that.

I'm not entirely sure how well this will be received by everyone. 😅

“It’s not really enjoyable to make music now. It takes a lot of time, it takes a lot of practice, you have to get really good at an instrument or really good at a piece of production software. I think the majority of people don’t enjoy the majority of time they spend making music”

On a recent stream with TheRollUp, Jasper Zhang from Hyperbolic shared that they’ve already observed AI agents renting cloud GPUs for AI development in PyTorch.

I knew this would happen very very soon, but I didn't know its already happening.

AI Agents are renting GPUs (to create better AI agents?).

This is too fascinating yet slightly unsettling. I need to process this.

For me, its a mix of 1/ and 2/...

I am still holding a full-time job as a software engineer, I still have to keep my technical fundamentals sharp.

1 year ago 0 0 0 0

In the age of AI, what are y'all doubling down on?

1/ Indie hacking or solopreneurship, and the related skills that come with it

2/ Sharpening your technical fundamentals and expertise

3/ Exploring entirely different professions

4/ ?

Curious to hear your thoughts.

Just to clarify, I’m not saying it’s a bad role.

We have a choice:

Work for big companies, helping them build their skyscrapers (and be part of their machine),

OR build our own little villa and sell it ourselves.
