Tweet From Obama mentioning my firing from the Washington post. Wirh a photo of me
The last political column I was allowed to write in the @washingtonpost.com was a criticism of Obama.
His people took issue with my piece, but we were respectful.
Now he is tweeting in support of me.
This is how free political speech and respect for debate *actually works*.
Or used to work.
Stefani Germanotta will *always* be famous. Lady Gaga’s Mayhem Ball at Madison Square Garden was one of the best concerts I’ve ever experienced.
They are not mutually exclusive. Does that make the write up any less true?
Literacy, folks. It’s so important.
I appreciate @democracydocket.com for resharing this. For those who keep dinging the usage of the term “constitutional crisis” in May, please know that I wrote this in February a couple weeks after the inauguration.
Did you check the date of the post by any chance?
Are they mutually exclusive?
Did you check to see when it was written by any chance?
Or griping on BlueSky? I wrote it in February, for what it’s worth.
The difference, of course, being that @rollingstone.com has and values integrity.
I'm excited to give my upcoming talk, “Reinventing Public Administration Doctoral Education,” @au-spa.bsky.social. Many thanks to @dei-au-spa.bsky.social for the invitation.
I’ve reached that stage of life where I’m excited to get glucosamine chondroitin gummies.
You don’t say.
Cabaret at the Kit Kat Club was amazing! A bravura performance by a practically flawless cast. And Orville Peck as the emcee? Just. Wow. If you’re familiar with the story, you can imagine how sobering it was to watch at this moment in time. A stunned silence in August Wilson Theatre more than once.
Thank goodness. There is relief with this photo. Proud to claim @vanhollen.senate.gov as one of my senators. Thank you, Senator, for taking action on this.
Major kudos to @cullenmerritt.bsky.social for his vision and execution of such a great event! A huge thanks to all those who attended and helped make it a success. We hope to continue this and welcome more visitors in the future!
Kilmar Abrego Garcia was illegally abducted and is being held in a notorious prison in El Salvador — barred from contacting his family or lawyers.
I’m speaking to the press now after we were denied access to the prison to check on his condition. Tune in:
Excellent experience from the beginning to the end! I enjoyed my time this weekend attending the Inaugural Public Leadership Research Summit at UMD's School of Public Policy. Thank you @cullenmerritt.bsky.social, @johnron.bsky.social, and the IPL team for the invitation and the opportunity!!!

Feeling grateful to be at UMD listening to @cullenmerritt.bsky.social kick off the IPL summit! Scholars from across the country are here to support and learn from early-career scholars in public + non-profit management.
@cullenmerritt.bsky.social welcomes participants and attendees to the inaugural Public Leadership Research Summit at the Institute for Public Leadership at the University of Maryland School of Public Policy. We’re so thrilled to have you!
No. No we don’t.
there were multiple reporters outside of the institute of museum and library services today as DOGE invaded their headquarters, but not a single elected official.
something to consider when thinking about who’s actually defending democracy.
Dude doesn’t even know that he doesn’t know.
People who are signing have a lot of smart things to say about why this is important. This will be a thread with some of them. Please sign & share with your networks.

Media outlets, producers, editors, reporters…we want to help you add context and expertise to your stories. We recognize your vital contributions, but please dig a bit deeper when you can to find those voices who’ve prepared their entire careers for this harrowing time.
The DEI erasure has been a constant fight in academia despite performative acts of action and allyship, and yet as it unfolds violently in this administration, scholars who are experts in this area and who are BIPOC, LGBTQ+, disabled, etc. themselves are ignored.
The opportunism of cisgendered hetero white scholars to speak on issues that they’ve never spoken on or written about until now isn’t at all surprising. A textbook example of not what you know, but who you know.
